Lloyd of the Flies shines a light on the weird, wonderful, and sometimes bizarre world of insects and their behaviour. The series follows the adventures of Lloyd B Fly, a housefly and the middle child of 453. Lloyd lives with his parents, his little sister PB and their 225 maggot siblings inside a compost bin they call home. In the series, Lloyd is always accompanied by his best and only friend, Abacus Woodlouse, PB, and eccentric tag-along, Cornea Butterfly. Together they explore the strange world beyond the compost bin, where there is no shortage of lessons for Lloyd to very nearly learn.
Lloyd and Abacus are on the hunt for a nice quiet spot to play their favourite board game - the trouble is that everywhere is either too loud, too busy, or too dangerous! They finally find the perfect place... but then they forget to take gravity into account.
Lloyd has an unexpected windfall of crumbs and sets out to buy happiness, cleaning the newsstand out of comics, dining at the Pancake, and hiring his friends to carry his lovely crumbs around - however, he soon learns that crumbs can't buy true happiness.
With Gena and Malcolm out for the evening, Lloyd is left in charge of PB and 224 maggots - how hard can maggotsitting be? Keen to get his duties over as quickly as possible, Lloyd skimps on the bedtime story, prompting a mass exodus of maggots!
Lloyd adopts a tardigrade as a pet in spite of his parents warning that they never live for long. Regardless of his efforts to keep Nutbum alive, Lloyd finds it apparently dead the next day - thankfully, Cornea knows exactly what to do!
Keen to prove that he is hard-working to Queen Libby and his parents, Lloyd volunteers to work in the ant colony for a day, swapping with ant Annie 209 to replace him at home. However, things don't go to plan, and Lloyd creates chaos in the colony...
Lloyd tries to educate PB about the danger of spiders by luring one out with a decoy fly - his clumsy attempts attract a curious spider called Julie, who PB immediately wants to befriend. Can Lloyd accept that some spiders may not be all that bad?
Lloyd hears that Berry is moving into his own place, and to avoid looking immature by comparison, Lloyd finds himself caught up in a spiralling series of lies as he tries to convince everyone that he's moving into a luxurious giant mango in the big bin.
Lloyd wants to show everyone that he can manage without Abacus, but he soon gets into a series of disasters on his own. He ends up lost in a rug, covered in sticky orange juice, and being chased by hungry carpet beetles that may or may not to want to eat him...
Cornea invites Lloyd and his family to dinner, but they can't stomach Cornea's unique cooking and adopt a series of bizarre ways to try and avoid eating the food without offending their host.
Lloyd tries to compete with Berry and prove that he's 'more caring' by rescuing flies whether they want or need rescuing or not - however, his zealousness backfires when he attempts a daring rescue 'outside'!
Sucked into the vacuum cleaner, Catastrophe Jim tries to convince Lloyd, Abacus and PB that they are now in the afterlife. Lloyd refuses to believe that a life as significant as his could be over so soon, so he sets out to prove that they're still alive.
Lloyd is cross when Berry brings his parents fruit fresh from the fridge - if anyone's going to raid the fridge, it should be him! Lloyd and Abacus therefore head to the fridge with Berry as their guide, but they find themselves unprepared for the cold...
Lloyd tries to convince everyone that he's not afraid when they visit a spooky new attraction in the Backov Zofar. Nothing scares him - not even the 'ghost insects' who swoop out of the darkness - but when Abacus goes missing, Lloyd has to face his fears.
Lloyd and Abacus' friendship is tested when they find a chrysalis and can't agree on what to do with it - they think they have the answer when the chrysalis starts communicating with a series of knocks, but is it one knock for 'yes' or one knock for 'no'?
When Bob's best friend Gummy goes missing, Lloyd and Abacus take on the task of finding him... which is only right as they were the ones who lost him. Lloyd suspects foul play, so he compiles a list of suspects and starts following the clues.
Lloyd always has Abacus over for dinner, so PB persuades Malcolm and Gena to let her invite Julie the Spider for dinner too. However, Lloyd's not convinced by Julie's promise not to eat them... and he decides to take precautions to ensure that his family don't become dinner!
Lloyd's plans with Abacus are ruined when he has to go on a family trip to Caterpillar World, but PB can't wait - she's finally going to find out the gory details of what happens inside a chrysalis! However, the show is not what either of them was expecting...
PB has heard that there's a blob of peanut butter on the kitchen counter, but Lloyd's supposed to be maggotsitting and can't leave - faced with the prospect of missing out on the peanut butter, Lloyd therefore concocts a plan to take his maggotsitting duties with him!
Lloyd, PB and Abacus discover a fly frozen in an ice cube - a drop from the kitchen counter later allows them to meet Marvin, a fly from the past. Full of gratitude, Marvin insists on repaying Lloyd, but his persistent helpfulness soon gets out of hand.
Lloyd discovers that Abacus and PB have been invited to a party without him... and to make matters worse, it's Berry's party! Not wanting to be outdone by Berry, Lloyd decides that he will have his own party... and it will be much better and more popular than Berry's.
Lloyd gets his head wedged between the two panes of a double-glazed window while trying to get a trapped raisin - as the sun comes out, Abacus and PB realise that only Berry is small enough to rescue him, but Lloyd would rather bake than be rescued by Berry...
PB sets Lloyd up in a fight with Dotty the ladybird's brother Freckles - worried that he'll defeat a little ladybird with ease, Lloyd makes himself as weak and unfit as possible to make the fight fairer, but Freckles is not the weak opponent he expected...
When Lloyd finds a discarded leg behind the washing machine, he is mistakenly declared a hero for defeating a bloodthirsty spider. Unable to resist the praise and free comics, Lloyd goes along with it... but he's then confronted by an actual spider.
Lloyd finds an entire sweetie, but when he is unable to move it on his own, he reluctantly leaves it in the care of a passing wasp while he gets Abacus and PB. When the wasp steals the sweetie and takes it to their nest, Lloyd then gathers a team to stage a sweet-retrieving heist!
Lloyd becomes trapped in the web of Petrichor, a very hungry spider - fortunately, Petrichor is also very chatty, and so Lloyd must rely on his wits to try and talk his way out of their web - or, at least, buy some time so he can be rescued...
The newsstand has a new comic in stock called Llerd the Fly, and Lloyd is appalled to discover that Llerd is based on him! Intent on preventing any more copies of Llerd being produced, Lloyd sets out to uncover the identity of the comic's mysterious author.
Malcolm has a new 'home theatre', a literal small theatre run by a troupe of flea actors - Lloyd 'breaks' it when he offends one of the actors and ends up having to take her place on the road, but will his acting skills be up to the job?
Everyone knows that there's no such thing as head lice... after all, an insect can't live on a Biggo without getting squashed or swatted! However, when Lloyd meets a real head louse called Titchy, he's torn between proving her existence or returning her to Biggo's head.
Malcolm and Gena's oldest son, who is also called Lloyd, comes home for a visit - Big Lloyd's habit of eating all the crumbs is bad enough, but when his visit threatens to become permanent, Little Lloyd is faced with the prospect of having to share his room!
Lloyd meets a young stink bug called Chuck and sees an opportunity for a harmless prank to get back at Berry with a tiny little stink - however, the plan backfires as Chuck gets a taste for bigger stinks and ends up stinking Lloyd's family out of their home.
Abacus' attendance at his dad's party is put in doubt when he moults early - Lloyd promises to look after Abacus in his vulnerable state, but Abacus's mum insists that they work together to protect Abacus on the perilous journey across Biggo's living room.
Queen Libby is at her wits' end - food is going missing from the colony and the larvae are hungry, but there's some sort of pest at work and the ants just can't track it down. Against her better judgement, Libby accepts Lloyd's offer to find the pest...
Lloyd is excited to attend the 'hottest party there is' behind the oven after Biggo puts a pizza on - 'hotter' equals 'happier' for Lloyd, but as the street party heats up and insects start to leave, Lloyd insists that there's no such thing as 'too hot'...
When Lloyd starts behaving very oddly - flying into walls, sitting on his sister, seeing multiples of everything, eating a dishcloth - his family start to suspect that something may be wrong with his senses.
A bird on the loose indoors sends everyone into hiding - Lloyd, who has been separated from Abacus and trapped in a pen lid with his neighbour Molly, is struggling with the notion of doing nothing and waiting it out, so he starts trying to think up an escape plan.
When Lloyd sprains his wing at the far side of the Biggo house, it proves a very long journey back for Abacus as he is there to walk Lloyd through it.
Lloyd is trapped under an upside-down glass by Biggo along with Ricotta the wasp and Julie the spider - with no idea when or if Biggo will be back, Julie and Ricotta are both starting to get hungry - and Lloyd's looking rather tasty.
Having had enough of chores, Lloyd moves into a small grape with Abacus, but living with your best friend is not the life of endless fun that Lloyd imagined as cramped conditions and differing attitudes to housework form cracks in their relationship.
When a crab spider parachutes into his life, Lloyd calls her Crabbie Spindles and decides to raise her as a vegetarian and single-handedly change fly-spider relationships forever! However, it becomes clear that Lloyd's bitten off more than he can chew...
There is an exciting new Ghost Coaster inside the sofa, but Lloyd, PB and Abacus are too short to go on it - however, Lloyd refuses to allow his height to get in the way of fun, and so he devises a way to make the three of them appear tall enough to ride it.
As an anniversary treat, Gena has booked a private performance by Dolichovsky, Malcolm's favourite actor - Lloyd is entrusted with preparing the apple for the snail's arrival, but Dolichovsky proves to be far more demanding than expected.
After his inattention causes a mid-flight collision with Polly, Lloyd must attend a 'flight awareness' course run by Molly - if he refuses, he risks being grounded and will therefore have to walk everywhere!
Having written a book on the subject, Gena agrees to train Lloyd in how to survive outdoors, but Lloyd is disappointed to discover that all the training is to take place indoors.
When Abacus is targeted by The Louse Hunter, a ruthless louse spider who loves the thrill of the hunt, Lloyd steps up to the challenge of protecting his best friend. On this occasion, however, Abacus may not need his help...

While Abacus is on holiday, Lloyd tries to hang out with PB and her friends Dotty and Freckles instead, but they are far less willing to do what he wants to do than Abacus is, and Lloyd has to adapt to doing what the majority want to do.
When Mr Wiggley runs out of ideas for his Chrysalist - a list of fun things to do before he becomes a butterfly - Lloyd is happy to help and join in with putting it together, but he starts to suspect that Mr Wiggley is once again putting off pupating.
Lloyd feels surprisingly good after drinking some bin juice and so tries to promote it as a new health-giving elixir that he names Blue Fly - however, things get out of hand as his increasingly exaggerated claims prove to be completely unfounded.
Lloyd thinks he's developed a very vocal conscience after accidentally swallowing a dust mite named Alvi - Alvi likes being in Lloyd, and so as Lloyd's 'conscience' convinces him to do good deeds, Lloyd does not suspect the truth...
Nutbum the tardigrade turns up making frantic efforts to get Lloyd to do something... but what? Convinced it is serious, Lloyd does whatever he can to translate what Nutbum is saying, but communication is not as easy as he hopes.
Excitement turns to sadness when Lloyd discovers that his family's move to a whole new Biggo house means that he'll never see Abacus again, so Lloyd makes it his mission to find Abacus a new best friend!
