Next Episode of Lost Gold of the Aztecs is
unknown.
The Aztec Empire came to an end at the hands of Conquistador Hernan Cortes but not before Emperor Montezuma, and his people, were able to sneak their mass amounts of wealth north to seven separate locations in what is now the American Southwest. For five centuries, thousands have searched for Montezuma's treasure and the 7 Cities of Gold. The treasure is believed to be made up of an enormous quantity of gold bars, silver, precious stones, jewelry, and other Aztec artifacts. Historians estimate the value of all of these items to be worth over $3 billion dollars. Lost Gold of the Aztecs follows three families determined to break the 500-year-old curse of Emperor Montezuma and find the treasure. The series will intercut each family's epic adventure as they search for the 7 Cities of Gold on three different properties in three different states - the Dillmans in Utah, the Hoaglands in Nevada, and the Villescases in New Mexico. Who will be the first to find the Aztec Gold?
The Villescas talk with an expert about whether a spur they found could tie to the Conquistadors. In Nevada, the Miners' search gets sidetracked by the discovery of a potential grave site.
In New Mexico, the Villescas family decide to risk everything by bringing in more heavy machinery and a full crew for one final push to find Conquistador gold. In Nevada, the Miners' years of Aztec research is threatened when the Sheriff's Department launches an investigation into a grave located directly on their treasure site. In Utah, the Dillmans call in a geophysicist to pinpoint underground caves and caverns, leading to one of the largest finds of their family's 56-year hunt.
In Utah, the Dillman family drill into what they believe could be the hidden treasure chamber that their late grandfather predicted. After a close encounter, the Gold Miners in Nevada must find another way into the rest of the underground tunnel system. Meanwhile in New Mexico, after weeks of digging in the Fire Pits with numerous signs of the Conquistadors, the Villescas family makes an underground discovery that could blow their search wide open.
In Utah, the Dillmans must be careful not to trigger an Aztec water trap while digging deep into the cave chamber. In New Mexico, after finding a man-made vault, the Villescas family discovers that there are more secrets buried beneath the Fire Pits. Meanwhile, the Miners in Nevada finally bring in explosives to blow open the mystery waiting for them behind the walls of their mine shaft.
