Five online couples meet in the flesh for the first time to spend a week together in a glorious Greek beach house. Will the online spark translate into the real world?
Five couples who have only ever dated online are about to meet for the first time for the date of a lifetime. They will spend one week together in a luxury Greek beach house getting to know each other and finding out if their online connection means they can have a chance of a relationship in the real world.
Kwame and Jess have been chatting online for five years, but Kwame wouldn't agree to appear on screen, so Jess is worried that Kwame is a catfish. Hannah and Brandon's relationship has been hot and steamy since they connected six months ago on a dating app, but will the heat be the same in the flesh?
Millie and Shelby have been talking online for ten months and are both hoping that they have found the one. Chibz and Shazelle connected via Instagram two years ago, with Chibz falling head over heels straight away. But things have been rocky since then as Shazelle stood him up on the two dates they've arranged so far. He's not convinced she'll turn up this time but is hoping the lure of a week in a beautiful Greek beach house might do the trick. Will she show or blow?
Online couple Christos and Niki both have Greek roots and share similar family values – Christos has even talked to Niki's nan. Both are hoping that they are a perfect match in real life, but who knows what the week has in store.
It's day two in the beach house where our five couples are navigating their way through a real-life relationship. After a meeting for the first time in the flesh yesterday, these relationships are either on the way up or looking unlikely to last the week.
The five couples go on their first dates with no screens or filters to hide behind. Zara announces that there are two private suites and that it's up to the group to decide who should spend the night in them and why. There's a group discussion before the two couples are chosen.
Tension builds when one of the housemates reveals her head has been turned by another of the men in the beach house, and her online partner is left feeling crushed. Will she act on her desires or stay true to the man she has built an online bond with?
It's day three in the beach house where our five couples are navigating their way through the trials and tribulations of relationships in the real world, having previously only connected online. After a turbulent second day, all the relationships are either flourishing or floundering. Today, it's crunch time for the couples who are about to encounter their biggest test yet.
Zara announces the evening's entertainment with two parties, one at the beach and one by the pool. The couples are divided for the parties so they can have some much-needed space and time to relax and re-evaluate their connections away from their online partners.
Then, Zara turns the heat up to a hundred as she sends in six singletons to crash the pool party. The singles have all max'd out the dating apps and are looking for love with no filter in the beach house. Tensions run high when the beach party-goers return to find their other halves getting to know the newbies. Will heads have turned?
The arrival of six new singles has rocked the beach house and unsettled even some of the strongest online couples. The online couples receive a note from Zara, and that evening, they head to the beach for the first Status Update of the Series - it's time for them to declare how they really feel about each other and to decide if they want to stay connected or disconnect after their four days in the house together. At the ceremony, Zara asks each couple to step forward one by one - with no screens to hide behind, it's the time for total and complete honesty.
The morning of Day 5 in the beach house finds everyone thoroughly confused about the state of Hannah and Brandon's relationship - not least Hannah and Brandon themselves.
At the Status Update last night, Hannah and Brandon decided to disconnect. Hannah has been getting to know Joe but, in bed last night, Hannah responded to Brandon's advances and they shared a passionate kiss. What does this mean for their relationship and where does it leave Joe?
Hannah wakes up confused and unsure about her feelings for both Brandon and Joe.
Hannah confides in Shelby about her situation but doesn't want anyone to find out, as she wants to tell Joe first. She says she doesn't want to be caught up in a love triangle but can't deny she still has strong feelings for Brandon which developed over three months of online flirting.
But a secret is hard to keep quiet in Zara's beach house.
Shazelle and Chibz are preparing breakfast for everyone in the kitchen when Brandon joins Millie and Shelby in the kitchen. Millie begins to probe Brandon about what happened last night.
Meanwhile Hannah, who is washing up in the kitchen, overhears Brandon telling everyone about their kiss. She's not at all happy. Will Joe find out before Hannah gets to speak to him in person and is Brandon giving Hannah mixed messages?
In other news, six new singles have been in the beach house for two days: Edwyna, Joe, Caz, Lauren, Ana and Dan. New relationships are starting to form between Caz and Lauren and Dan and Ana.
Caz and Lauren are both not each other's type ‘Online' but meeting in the flesh has allowed them to be their authentic selves and get to know each other without preconceptions. Will their attraction grow for one another?
Ana and Dan have developed a strong physical attraction for one another, which some couples are envious of but Ana in particular is looking for a deeper connection. Can Dan look beyond the physical attraction and get to know the real Ana? Is this just lust or the start of something meaningful?
From the original couples, out of the four that remain - Millie and Shelby , Chibz and Shazelle and Jess and Kwame seem to be growing stronger by the minute. It's just Niki and Christos who seem to be on shaky ground.
Niki is envious of Dan and Ana's public display of affection around the beach house and is wanting the same reassuring type of PDA attention from Christos. Will Christos step up to the plate as she asks and will he be able to save their relationship - or is it too late?
Later on that evening at the Status Update, in two dramatic consecutive twists, there's a surprise in store for the singles and the three new couples when four people are asked to leave the beach house. Who will be going home and which couples will survive?
After a dramatic night, numbers are seriously dwindling. Now, only six couples remain – four have already built up a connection online and the other two met here in the beach house - but which of them have a genuine connection that can last in the outside? Time is running out to decide.
Today's task is all about communication and one couple already struggling in that respect are Niki and Christos. Despite building a strong bond over three months of face-timing, they've had a bumpy week with Niki seeking more attention and affection than Christos has been showing her and Christos growing increasingly frustrated at what he sees as Niki just creating problems where none exist. An evening chat to try to clear the air after arguing earlier in the day leaves them both wondering if the relationship can work beyond the beach house.
After a night in the Lovers' Suite, Kwame and Jess are more relaxed together than any of their time together in the beach house. Things are looking up also for new couple Dan and Ana whose attraction to each other has grown deeper after spending their first night in the Couples' Suite. The question is this relationship all about lust or is there the potential for something deeper?
Caz and Lauren are also growing closer each day and when Caz shows his considerate side by making her a special breakfast, Lauren is impressed.
Shazelle and Chibz, who spent two years face-timing before meeting in person, are getting along perfectly after a slow start from Shazelle.
Front runners for the strongest bond, Millie and Shelby play agony aunt to Christos who confesses that he feels that Niki just picks and chooses when she wants to have an issue with him. Niki confides in Caz and Kwame that Christos confuses her; they advise Niki to talk to these skills in abundance. At a beautiful lake location, the challenge is for each couple to construct a raft from wood and rope and race to the Lovers' Buoy. Whoever gets there first will receive a romantic surprise reward.
But just as the task is about to begin, Lauren has a panic attack brought on by a past trauma. After taking time out and receiving support from Caz, she decides to carry on with the challenge. Lauren sees a whole new side to Caz that makes her feel safe and protected and, through this upsetting incident, their bond grows even stronger. She's so relaxed in his company she throws herself into the raft challenge and is truly able to really enjoy it.
Chibz and Shazelle cement their growing bond as they work in rhythm to get their raft built. Jess and Kwame enjoy figuring it out together; Millie takes charge and calms a jittery Shelby to pull them through, but Ana gets frustrated that Dan is easily distracted and takes his eye off the ball.
With the rafts made, the twist is that one of each pair has to row blindfolded whilst they navigate to the buoy. Millie pretends the others are gaining on them to motivate Shelby to row faster and Dan takes a risky decision to swim behind the raft and push Ana along despite the rules stating that both must be on board. His cheating is noticed and they're sent back to the start leaving Ana furious that he ignored the plan they'd made, choosing to do his own thing. It's the first bump in their relationship but can they get through it, or will it tear them apart?
After working exceptionally well as a team, Millie and Shelby reach the buoy first and win the keys to the Lovers' Suite proving that they are one of the strongest couples in the beach house. It's also a positive experience for Niki and Christos who, despite struggling to communicate so far, also work well together and genuinely enjoy each other's company away from the beach house. Maybe it's the upturn they've been looking for…
Back at the beach house, Dan is worried that his cheating in the task has upset Ana so much that he'll be spending the night on his own, while Chibz opens up about how his vitiligo has affected his confidence in the past but overcoming it is one of his proudest achievements. He tells the group he's now embarking on a modelling career.
Christos and Niki are more confused than ever about their relationship which felt rocky but has warmed up after a day on the water. Christos decides now is the time to steal a kiss but is it too little too late?
After a day of the cold shoulder, Ana confronts Dan about his cheating during the race and her worries that he just does what he wants but it seems upsetting Ana has really made Dan think seriously about how actions have consequences.
At the evening's status update Zara asks all the couples if they want to stay connected or disconnect.
It is the penultimate day in the beach house and the last chance for the five remaining couples to cement their bonds. Three of the couples had already built connections online; the other two met here in the beach house just four days ago. They all seemed loved-up, but which of them can genuinely last in the real world?
To find out which of the couples are truly on the same page, Zara organises a challenge on the beach and asks the couples for total honesty when answering her questions. So that they are not swayed by their partners' answers, all of them are blindfolded. The task is simple – if you answer yes to the question, you take a step forward towards the middle and the heart, if you answer no, you stay where you are. The couple who are closest to each other at the end are the winners.
In the series finale, the three remaining couples each go on a date to consider their relationships beyond the beach house. Only the strongest can walk away with the biggest prize.
