Next Episode of Michael Ball's Wonderful Wales is
unknown.
The singer and broadcaster explores his own heritage while discovering more about Wales's rich history.
Michael begins in south Wales. His mother grew up in the Cynon Valley, and his grandfather and great-grandfather were both coal-miners. Michael visits the area that supplied coal to power the Titanic, and on the Gower Peninsula, he learns about cockle harvesting with three generations from Selwyn's Seafoods.
The singer and broadcaster heads to mid Wales, making his way to the north of the country. His first stop is a familiar seaside town he is extremely fond of - Aberystwyth. This is where he did his first paid acting job, and Michael meets a friendly face from his summer performing in Godspell. Next, he drops in for lunch with the spectacular red kites of Mid Wales. Michael then checks in to restaurant Ynyshir on the Dyfi estuary for a Michelin-starred experience hosted by multi-award-winning chef Gareth Ward.
The singer and broadcaster takes a trip around West Wales. Starting his journey above the river Tywi at the majestic Dinefwr castle, Michael learns about Lord Rhys one of the forefathers of the arts culture in Wales, before heading for the coast. Later, he joins wildlife expert Lizzie Daly on a boat trip around Ramsey Island in search of the fastest bird in the world.
The singer is in north Wales, exploring the beautiful Snowdonia mountain range, in a journey that takes in Caernarfon Castle and a rare breed of wild Welsh mountain ponies.
