MLB Network Presents is an original series of documentaries and access-driven profiles. Launched in January 2015, MLB Network Presents has produced programs covering many subjects across baseball, including the Emmy-nominated "The Story of Billy Bean" as well as "Holy Cow! The Story of Harry Caray," ".406," "56: The Streak," "The Bird," "The Colorful Montreal Expos" and "The Nasty Boys: The 1990 Cincinnati Reds."
The St. Louis Cardinals teams of the 1980s are examined. Whitey Herzog was hired as manager in 1980 and began crafting a team that was built on speed and defense. Cardinals were the only team in the decade to appear in three World Series (winning the 1982 World Series over the Milwaukee Brewers).
Stars and legends from across the sports and entertainment landscape discuss Ken Griffey Jr.'s generational talent, which made transcended baseball and made him one of sports' most famous athletes.
MLB Network honors six legendary Hall of Famers who passed away in 2020: Tom Seaver, Lou Brock, Al Kaline, Bob Gibson, Whitey Ford, and Joe Morgan. (In a fitting postscript to 2020, a seventh Hall of Famer, Phil Niekro, died the day this episode originally aired.)
