For hundreds of years, Bigfoot has put Americans on edge with sightings of giant man-beasts lurking in the forest, discoveries of massive footprints in the mud, and reports of disembodied howls floating in the nighttime. Nowhere does the mystery of Bigfoot's existence run deeper than in the backcountry of Appalachia where, over the last 10 years alone, the Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings (AIMS) has uncovered more than a dozen different clans of Bigfoot that call the mountain region home. Locals have their own names for these enormous ape-like creatures, from Midnight Whistlers to the Wildman, but they're all Bigfoot in the end. Trapper and his team of expert hunters and outdoorsmen - including Jeff, Willy, Wild Bill, Huckleberry, and Buck - have spent their entire lives navigating Appalachia's rough terrain, surviving off the land, and practicing do-it-yourself resourcefulness in preparation for their toughest challenge yet: defending mountain communities from Bigfoot, the most legendary monster ever rumored to exist. Now, in the third season of Destination America's hit series Mountain Monsters, AIMS travels to remote corners of the Appalachian wilderness, putting a lifetime of training to the ultimate test, as they track and attempt to trap local Bigfoots across the region in a quest to prove they are fact, not folklore.
The AIMS members are in a race to flee the Dark Forest before it tears the team apart; after a heart-wrenching health update from Trapper, the guys set out to find an old barn that holds the key to all the answers they so desperately need.
In Jackson County, W. Va., the team heads after a monstrous wolf creature known as the Waya Woman; this seven-foot-tall being roams the cornfields of Jackson County, and the team strives to build a trap strong enough to contain it.
In Jackson County, W. Va., the team continues its search for the truth surrounding the Waya Woman; an abandoned blue house is at the heart of this mystery; the deaths that have taken place at the house are allegedly tied to the Waya Woman herself.
The AIMS team sets off after a massive bear creature known as the Silver Giant; this behemoth is said to stand on its hind legs at more than 10-feet-tall and has a silver streak running down its back; Wild Bill decides to research the creature.
The AIMS team continues its quest to get to the bottom of the legend of Spearfinger and sets off to investigate the Cherokee Death Cat, a ferocious feline with a deadly curse.
The AIMS team investigates the mysterious barn from which they heard the roar of the Cherokee Death Cat. Their quest to catch the ferocious feline leads to a shocking discovery no one is prepared for.
The AIMS team realizes they may be up against more than just the Death Cat when they discover an enormous canine is stalking the hollows of Cherokee County, North Carolina.
The AIMS team meets with their team leader Trapper, who makes them realize they have been missing a big clue. Then they head back to Ashe County, North Carolina, in search of the Cherokee Devil, which soon proves to be too much for Huckleberry.
The AIMS team sets off to track down one of the cloaked figures at the heart of the mystery of Spearfinger. Willy and Wild Bill sneak down for a recon mission, and the team realizes the key to their quest is in the rock overhang and the red shed.
The AIMS team searches for Jeff after he is drawn away by a mysterious cloaked figure. Their frantic hunt leads them to a pair of finely crafted torches that shed light on the Cherokee folklore surrounding Spearfinger.
