Police officer Shivajirao Jende and his friend, Retired journalist Peter Fernandes plunge into a murder investigation in Mumbai's underbelly. In a thrilling tale adapted from Jerry Pinto's critically acclaimed book, they uncover secrets of desire, greed, despair and also confront the shadows of their long lost friendship.
The lives of two estranged friends, Jende, a cop, and Peter, a journalist, turn upside down with the murder of a gay sex worker at the Mahim toilet. This leads them to embark on a thrilling journey exploring the 'hungry' yet 'deadly' city of Mumbai.
As the murder of another victim sends shock waves around town, life brings Jende face-to-face with Peter, as he is suspicious of Sunil's being involved in the crime. To add to this, Sunil has also been missing for a few days.
A serial killer is on the loose, and the next target is the cop itself. While stress levels rise at work, Jende's conflict with his father intensifies, distancing him from his other family members. Peter reaches out to an old friend.
Sunil comes back and proves his innocence to Jende. As Peter and Jende's world collide, old wounds are reopened, and differences are resolved. By letting bygones be bygones, their friendship is rekindled. But a vicious future lies ahead for both.
As the shadow of doom falls on the police itself, two cops from Jende's team meet a fateful end. As the pressure mounts on Jende, he starts suspecting Peter's involvement in the murders. Peter starts challenging his notions about the LGBTQ community.
As Jende and Peter get a whiff of the 'honey trapping' racket run by the police, the chase to find the culprit gets even tougher. While Rabbani's reality is revealed to her family, Peter and Jende are also hit hard by a truth bomb.
Peter's conflict with Sunil intensifies as he demands to know more about his personal life. Rabbani is jolted by the news of the suicide of her partner. Peter and Jende find the culprit behind these murders, but he escapes in the nick of time.
The police up their ante to find the criminal on the run. Peter supports his son, and Jende stands up for Rabbani against the indiscriminate acts of his superior. Peter and Jende solve the case to find themselves on the cusp of another 'beginning'.
