When a restaurant owner suspects employees of not doing their jobs — whether it be stealing, lying, mistreating customers or generally doing lousy work — they call in the Mystery Diners. These Mystery Diners are undercover operatives who go into restaurants, bars and food-service establishments with hidden cameras to perform surveillance to find out what's really going on when the boss isn't around.
After receiving multiple complaints about theft and inappropriate touching during his monthly "Dining in the Dark" event, Hernan, the owner of Catharsis in Miami, Fla., contacts Charles for help. Mystery Diners Hollie and Billy go undercover and discover that Hernan's employees have created a game where they mess with blindfolded customers for points.
When Stephanie and D-Rock, owners of Cheeseburger Baby in Miami, Fla., notice a discrepancy in their register, they suspect an ex-convict employee is stealing from them. Charles sends in Mystery Diners Tracy and John to find out who's really responsible.
The namesake owner of George's Restaurant in Miami, Fla., wants both his customers and his employees to have a good time at his restaurant. But wehn he notices a dramatic loss in revenue, he contacts Charles to investigate. Mystery Diners Rob and Jenny go undercover and discover that George's staff is taking the "everyone have fun" policy to the next level.
After noticing a recent unusually low haul in crab claws, Luis, owner of Garcia's Seafood in Miami, Fla., contacts Charles for help. Mystery Diners Harry and Carlos go undercover and discover where the seafood is going missing.
When UJ, owner of the family-run R&O's Restaurant in New Orleans, becomes fed up with the lack of respect he's receiving from his relative employees, he contacts Charles for help. Mystery Diners Deanna and Andrew go undercover and discover that a few black sheep are destroying the harmony at R&O's.
After realizing how hard it is to start a new restaurant, the husband and wife owners of N'awlins Cafe, in New Orleans, contact Charles for advice. Mystery Diners Nicole and Tom go undercover and discover that the manager is hiring her incompetent friends who prevent the restaurant from thriving.
Terry, the owner of Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que in Dallas, Texas, is concerned that one of his employees is selling his secret family recipe to his rivals and calls in Charles to help find the culprit. The Mystery Diners discover that Terry's nephew Michael who works as a manager is behind this. During the confrontation, Terry fires him. The narrator revealed that Michael was disowned from the family business. The rest of the kitchen staff has signed non-disclosure agreements.
Keith, the owner of Deanie's Seafood in New Orleans, is concerned that his manager is more focused on his amateur comedy career than managing the restaurant. Charles sends in Mystery Diners Andrew and Deanna who discover that another employee may be taking advantage of the situation.
The owner of Poppy's The Crazy Lobster in New Orleans fields complaints about constant fighting between the cooks. He also has a problem with his nephew bringing wild animals into the restaurant. The Mystery Diners point to a waitress who is playing the grill supervisor and cook against each other since she is dating the cook, and having an affair with the supervisor. The nephew has been bring wild animals in the bar to impress a Mystery Diner posing as a customer by showing off a baby alligator.
When Francesco, owner of Zio Cecio in Dallas, starts hearing rave reviews about Tex-Mex food being served in his Italian restaurant, he calls in Charles to investigate. Mystery Diners Tracy and Justin go undercover and discover that a few employees are running a side business when Francesco isn't there.
After noticing a drop in revenue at his Dallas restaurant, Stroker's Ice House, Rick needs to convince his retired mother to resume her position as manager. Charles sends in Mystery Diners Hollie and Justin who discover the revenue drop may be related to Rick's motorcycle shop.
The owner of Buttons Restaurant in Texas asks Charles Stiles to investigate after fielding complaints that his ex-military manager is being too strict. The Mystery Diners discover that the ex-military manager has made one employee (an ROTC trainee who looks up to the manager) do laps around the restaurant for messing up and caused one of the servers to quit.
The owners of Sisley Italian Kitchen in Sherman Oaks, California named Jamie and Francine Alba enlist Charles Stiles to help get to the bottom of a revenue discrepancy that may or may not involve their bookkeeper Pamela. She was caught coming to work late, making personal phone calls, and sleeping on the job, but is actually honest in reporting a cash discrepancy to the manager.
