Return of the documentary going behind the doors of the London museum. A young dinosaur researcher scans a giant tooth-filled jawbone belonging to a Gorgosaurus which may reveal the secret of its success 80 million years ago. Elsewhere, the museum's team of experts help a schoolgirl identify a stone she found in her playground, and fly expert Erica heads to the Knepp Estate in Sussex in search of new insect species.
The Urban Nature Project team start the ambitious transformation of the Natural History Museum garden, and Kieran delicately repairs a 67-million-year-old triceratops fossil. Elsewhere, preparations are underway as finalists from a wildlife photography competition are invited to a glittering awards ceremony. Cameras follow one of the photographers, Richie Richardson, who has been photographing the Souther White Whale, as he joins whale expert Richard Sabin for a visit to the great storage vaults.
