The neighbourhood team in Gateshead is put on high alert when a man threatens a woman with a crossbow. As a siege unfolds outside a house on a busy residential street, the team works with the Armed Response Unit to bring the situation to a peaceful conclusion. After discovering countless cannabis farms being manned by human slaves against their will, Northumbria Police launch Operation Kestrel, a force-wide crackdown to find those profiting from misery and illegal drug production. PCSOs Craig and Jill know something isn't right when they notice a vandalised car on their usual patrol. After doing some digging, the pair find a family who are being attacked regularly and do everything they can to help them.
When a woman in Newcastle threatens self-harm, Northumbria Police do everything they can to find her. Neighbourhood officer Neil manages to make contact, but things go from bad to worse when he realises she is talking to him from a bridge. Neil must use all his skills to talk to the woman and is forced to make a snap decision, which could save her life. When a prisoner who has broken the terms of his release goes on the run, Sunderland officers Mick and Dave must find him. After arresting him, it quickly becomes clear he won't go quietly, and the cops are forced to take a firm approach. In Sunderland, a youngster is injured after falling through the roof of a derelict school. After giving the trespassing youth some basic first aid, PCs Cooky and Sarah take him back to his dad, who is far from pleased.
In Sunderland, Cooky and Sarah attempt to bring peace to an area being tormented by two sets of nightmare neighbours, living in separate flats in the same property. After on-going arguments and accusations of assault, the situation comes to a head when the fire brigade is called to put out a blaze in the back garden. Having had enough, the neighbourhood cops issue both properties with antisocial behaviour notices. Can the warring couples learn to work it out or will council and police be forced to evict them? In rural market town of Hexham, neighbourhood officers Barry and Auriol must find a homeless man suffering with a mental health illness who has missed a court appearance and has a warrant out for his arrest.
Northumbria Police launch Operation Flynn, a targeted exercise aimed at getting wanted people who have fled justice behind bars. The operation is going well, with one suspect in custody not long into the shift, but PC Steve is forced to think on his feet when one slippery suspect gives him the run-around. In Gateshead, a vicious attack on a bus, sparks a hunt for a wayward teenager, who cops suspect has fallen in with the wrong crowd. After CCTV of the incident reveals an alarming detail, the neighbourhood team pulls out all the stops to get him into custody.
After a burglary in Sunderland, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) asks the neighbourhood team to help track down the suspects. A man and woman have been caught on camera using a debit card stolen during the burglary and, armed with this evidence, CID and the neighbourhood team must slowly gather the evidence and build a case against them. Marine officers Paul and Dave, together with the Port of Tyne harbour master, bring to book those breaking the rules of the water. Neighbourhood officers Mick and Dave are on the hunt for a suspect who has assaulted a man with a knuckle duster. A chance encounter during another job leads to a foot chase. After he gets away, does this mean the suspect will get off scot-free? It is Ladies Day at Newcastle Racecourse and PCs Neil and Gary are expecting a busy shift. When an argument breaks out between two men over the best Rolex, the neighbourhood officers are forced to call time.
In Sunderland, PCs Louise and Dan become involved in a heartbreaking case. An elderly woman has been assaulted by her son after he demanded money for drugs. The man had been released from prison days earlier and has a restraining order stopping him from going anywhere near his mother's house. When he ignores the court order, Dan and Louise take action. The Sunderland team also raid a property they believe to be connected to drug use. When no-one is home, the team must force their way in, but their entry doesn't quite go to plan. After making a discovery in the kitchen, the team is paid a visit by the suspect's mum, and she's not happy. PCSOs Jill and Craig are called to a park opposite a mosque, where someone has written racist graffiti in the grass with a lawnmower. The pair quickly get to work investigating the hate crime and spread the message that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.
In Gateshead, a man is violently attacked in broad daylight outside a busy row of shops. The victim doesn't want to report the crime or even be treated by paramedics, but nonetheless the neighbourhood team quickly get to work to find his attackers. When the investigation runs into trouble, neighbourhood officers Mark and Steve do everything they can to bring those responsible to justice, but the odds are stacked against them. PC Louise is called to a DIY superstore where security is struggling with a man caught stealing on CCTV. Ironically, the item the shoplifter was spotted stealing was a home CCTV system. The neighbourhood team are on shift at the annual Sunderland International Airshow. As well as reuniting lost children with their relieved parents, the team cracks down on underage drinkers.
To combat shoplifting on the high street, the Sunderland neighbourhood team joins forces with shopkeepers and security staff to share intelligence. Armed with intel on the worst offenders, neighbourhood officers Steve and Gill hit the shops, taking their cues from security staff watching over them on CCTV. When a woman is spotted stealing from a department store, the neighbourhood cops swoop in and make an arrest. In Newcastle, neighbourhood cops Neil and Hayley are called to an alarming road collision at rush hour. One driver accuses another of a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre and abusive behaviour. Will the team be able to get to the bottom of what has happened? And neighbourhood officers in Gateshead arrest a man caught on CCTV stealing from a pharmacy.
The Gateshead neighbourhood team join forces with the Home Office to investigate reports of illegal immigrants in the area. A raid on a takeaway reveals a surprise, and in a flat nearby, the team finds a man who may be hiding something. In Sunderland, PC Ross investigates a cannabis farm which was discovered the night before. At first it looks as if the gang who were running the farm had left before any of the drugs could be confiscated, but a discovery in the loft reveals otherwise. The Gateshead team are on shift for Remembrance Sunday. As well as being on duty, PC Andy has been chosen to lay a wreath at the cenotaph. Neighbourhood officer Mark has some good news for a construction worker who had his tools stolen. In Sunderland, PCSOs Mick and Andy clamp down on abandoned vehicles creating an eyesore on residential streets, and PC Neil is called to a car parked in a thoughtless and antisocial manner.
In Washington, in the north east of England, a man has been reported for acting violently in a suburban neighbourhood. After the neighbourhood cops manage to talk him into coming quietly, a change in his demeanour gives cause for concern, and a discovery in custody explains why. Neighbourhood officers in Blyth are on shift at seafront festival Northumberland Live. When a child goes missing, the team are put on high alert. In Newcastle, the arrest of a man who failed to appear in court takes an unexpected turn, which forces officer Hayley to spring into action. Neighbourhood officers Chris and Gill receive a shock in Sunderland when they receive calls about a man spotted on the high street wearing cowboy boots and little else. Having refrained from jumping to conclusions, the pair reveal the information to be false, although Chris and Gill get an eyeful when the truth of the reports is revealed.
