NFL Thursday Night Football is the branding used for broadcasts of National Football League (NFL) games that broadcast primarily on Thursday nights, and occasionally on Saturdays in the later portion of the season. Most of the games kick off at 8:25 p.m. Eastern Time. Debuting on November 23, 2006, the telecasts were originally part of NFL Network's Run to the Playoffs package, which consisted of eight total games broadcast on Thursday and Saturday nights (five on Thursdays, and three on Saturdays, originally branded as Saturday Night Football) during the latter portion of the season. Since 2012, the TNF package has begun during the second week of the NFL season. Beginning in 2014 the CBS Network began airing NFL Football on Thursday nights and in 2015 the CBS Network and the NFL Network split-up taking turns airing Thursday night games with CBS beginning the season and the NFL Network doing the last half of season games.
New York seeks its sixth straight win over Washington in a rivalry that began in 1932. The Giants lead the series 105-69-4. New York swept the two 2020 meetings by a combined four points, and has won the last three get-togethers by a total of 10.
Matthew Stafford gets his first taste of this NFC West rivalry as the Rams visit the Seahawks. Los Angeles won two of three meetings last season capped by a 30-20 triumph in the NFC wild-card round. Stafford was 1-3 versus Seattle while with Detroit.
Week 6 begins when Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers visit the Eagles. Brady is 5-2 versus Philadelphia, including a Super Bowl win and loss. The 44-year-old has 15 touchdowns and two interceptions versus the Eagles.
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers try to snap a three-game slide against the Cardinals. Rodgers is 2-4 versus Arizona. The Cardinals won the last meeting 20-17 on Dec. 2, 2018, six days before Arizona's Kyler Murray won the Heisman while at Oklahoma.
