The series follows an eccentric, agoraphobic arm-chair detective with a reluctant traffic cop in a series that showcases community, connection, and only-in-Florida characters. Together, Bell Prescott and Cammie Lorde, wrestle with personal demons, shocking twists and a few Florida gators on their journey to heal themselves and their town.
When Bell discovers a dead body on his property, he suspects it might be linked to another unsolved murder. He enlists the help of Cammie, the local traffic cop, who begrudgingly joins him to find out.
Cammie and Bell do a deep dive into what Vida could have been up to in her final days. Meanwhile, Cammie receives a surprise visit from someone from her past.
Bell is forced into therapy and is visited by one of Vida's family members in regard to the unresolved case. Cammie checks out the Perez's beach home and finds an unexpected clue.
Cammie grapples with evidence that could implicate Bell while also managing Tyler's new relationship with Marcus. Bell ventures off the property, hopeful for a lead on the other secrets Vida was hiding.
Bell and Cammie discover another person has been killed, and an autopsy reveals some surprising information. Complications arise when Cammie is pressured to turn over crucial evidence.
After the local Perez factory catches on fire, Cammie takes Bell on a road trip to attempt a heist. Meanwhile, Millicent is left alone for the first time in years, and she just might thrive.
After Bell and Cammie attempt to steal highly confidential files, Bell calls a family dinner to finally expose the grand conspiracy, but tensions run high with everyone finally in the same room.
As everybody else is forced to move on, Bell struggles with his lack of closure until a new detail emerges regarding Vida's family. Amid trying to put the final pieces together, Cammie faces a tense mediation.
