When a group of underachieving 40-something friends gather in Belize to celebrate the early retirement of an old friend, a series of wild, comedic events unfold, exposing dark secrets and a web of lies, deception and murder.
A group of guys travel to Belize to see an old friend, when things take an unexpectedly dark turn.
The guys scramble to find the missing yacht, but an unexpected encounter with a pair of Swedish drug dealers and a mysterious duffle bag tied to a cartel complicates their quest.
With only a few hours until their deadline to return the boat is up, the guys struggle to stay on top of escalating complications including a local police investigation, their friend's corpse, and the return of the murderous Cat.
After a failed trip to the US Embassy, the Mad Dogs hunker down in the villa overnight. Surrounded by enemies outside the perimeter wall and deprived of food and water, the guys are forced to confront the dark secrets of each others' pasts and place a value on the worth of their own lives.
The four men attempt to escape Belize with the help of an eager, go-getting Embassy employee (Allison Tolman). The journey strains the fraught tension between the friends as they interact with the colorful, dangerous and unique creatures of the Belizean countryside.
Emotions run high while the guys are trapped in an international quarantine, forced to reconcile with their past actions while waiting for life changing test results. Outside the tent, Lawrence (Phil Davis) works to track down the boys at the request of the notorious and dangerous Jesus.
Spread out and separated across the country, the Mad Dogs must weigh their personal desires against those of their friends' lives in order to recover all of the missing money and save a kidnapped Joel.
A charismatic entrepreneur named Aaron (Coby Bell) arrives with a promise to bring the boys home if they complete a mysterious and dangerous mission involving Lawrence, Jesus, and the duffle full of Euros.
The guys begin the treacherous journey through the jungle, only to discover Jesus and their mission are not what they seem. Back in Belize City, tensions sizzle between Lawrence and Aaron, and a mysterious new figure (Ted Levine) arrives asking searching questions about the boys.
In the season finale, Joel hurries to covertly complete Jesus' mission, while Gus and Cobi each deal with the authorities holding them accountable for their crimes. Lex goes into surgery and has an ethereal encounter, and all four boys make one last attempt to escape Belize once and for all.
