Long before banks, ATMS and check-cashing services, there were pawn shops. Pawning was the leading form of consumer credit in the United States until the 1950s, and pawn shops are still helping everyday people make ends meet. Pawn Stars takes you inside the colorful world of the pawn business. At the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop on the outskirts of Las Vegas, three generations of the Harrison family - grandfather Richard, son Rick and grandson Corey - jointly run the family business, and there's clashing and camaraderie every step of the way. The three men use their sharp eyes and skills to assess the value of items from the commonplace to the truly historic, including a 16th-century samurai sword, a Super Bowl ring, a Picasso painting and a 17th-century stay of execution. It's up to them to determine what's real and what's fake, as they reveal the often surprising answer to the questions on everyone's mind, "What's the story behind it?" and "What's it worth?"
When a friend swings by to show Rick and Chum a star-studded collection of photos, will the duo expose the right price, or get shot down? Then, a vintage LP of the single "We Are the World" spins into the shop. Will this deal make a brighter day for Corey? Meanwhile, Chum and Santos give each other a hand, when they check out an ancient Chinese cannon. Can they get a firm hold on this deal, or will it implode? And later, Rick races to Adam Carolla's garage for a chance to bid on a car once owned by legendary actor, Paul Newman. Will Rick do a victory lap, or will he be left in the dust?
Spencer drops into the shop with some tasty new finds, but will Rick bite? Then, Chum and Rick disappear from the shop to meet up with a magician selling a zig zag box. Can they conjure up an offer? Meanwhile, Corey finds himself flustered over a pricey gold necklace made of ancient coins. And later, Chum tries to script the perfect deal for a collection of Hollywood items.
When Rick reels in an antique glass fishing buoy made in Japan, he hopes the seller's price floats his boat. Meanwhile, Chum checks out a rare dinosaur fossil. Can he dig up a good price, or will the seller have a bone to pick with him? Then, a customer brings in an original poster for the film "Where the Buffalo Roam." Will Rick draw up a deal, or will he want it gonzo? And later, Rick and Corey head to the range to test out a 1580 German "puffer" pistol. Is it a wheely good deal, or a misfire?
In a pawn shop far away, Rick and Corey unbox a skateboard signed by Carrie Fisher. Then, Corey has a first-person encounter with "Halo: Combat Evolved." Will he be the Master Chief of this deal? Meanwhile, Chum is stunned by a colorful vintage Versace collection. Is this deal on brand, or out of style? And later, Corey goes crazy when a seller brings in a guitar signed by Aerosmith's Joe Perry. Can he make the guitar walk his way, or will the seller tell him to dream on?
Rick and Chum rack up points testing the merchandise at a pinball paradise. Will their fun with flippers lead to a score? Then, Corey saddles up to an obscure piece of WWII history. Next, Chum sleuths out a sale on a rare set of Sherlock Holmes books, but will he get a good read on the negotiation. Later, Rick welcomes Guns N' Roses guitarist ASHBA to the jungle that is the shop and they riff over some heavy metal.
When a seller brings in a WWF prototype figurine, Chum looks to a higher authority to bless the deal. Will the Pawn Star be ready to rumble or will the seller have him in a chokehold? Later, Rick takes a stab at a 19th century knife pistol, but will he be able to shoot for the right price? Then, Corey attempts to smoke out a deal on a lighter from Frank Sinatra's hotel. Will he be over the moon or saying "that's life?" And finally, Chum celebrates the holidays early with an original 1965 A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack album.
A seller Super Bowl Shuffles into the shop with a helmet and football signed by Da Bears. Will Rick make a deal in the endzone, or will he fumble the ball? Then, Chum strikes a jumpman pose as he checks out a bronze Michael Jordan statue. But is the bust... a bust? Next, Corey says hello to his little friend--a replica 1963 Cadillac from the movie "Scarface." Is the car a cream puff or a lemon? And later, Rick and Chum get to the point with some hazardous banned lawn darts.
Turtlemania hits the shop when a seller tries to pawn a 1991 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure and prototype. Will Chum say "cowabunga" to the customer's asking price or will it be a hard "shell?" Then, Rick heads to the gun range to test out a deadly 1800s "manstopper" pistol, but will a high price stop a deal? After, Chum takes a gamble on an architectural model of the famous Las Vegas Desert Inn hotel - but will he be left high and dry? Will Rick be able to mint a deal, or will the seller try to nickel and dime him? Then, Chum visits "The Happiest Place on Earth'' with a miniature model of Main Street USA from Disneyland. But will the deal end up in the Haunted Mansion's graveyard? Next, Corey hopes for a big bang when he investigates a tiny Japanese matchlock pistol. And finally, Chum gets ready for his closeup when he looks at a signed "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" movie poster.
