The return of the documentary following Derbyshire police on duty between 9pm and 10pm. After a two-day manhunt, officers finally track down a man suspected of carrying out a series of terrifying armed robberies, but they face a race against time to secure the evidence needed to charge him.
Comms HQ receives a distress call from a young teenager, whose friends are in dire trouble in a local river. The girls have swum out of their depth, just metres away from a dangerous weir, and cannot get back to shore. It's a race against time to prevent this fun day out from turning into a tragedy. Meanwhile, a specialist task force is planning a raid on a residential property suspected of being used as a cannabis farm.
Officers are alerted at 9pm to a major incident at a local hospital in which a man has assaulted three emergency workers and appears to be under the influence of drugs. At 9.15, a landlord calls to report that a local lad has just smashed up his pub, while at 9.40 officers receive a frantic call from a woman who claims her neighbour is threatening to kill her.
It's 9pm, and a man phones 999, claiming his housemate is threatening to kill him and his partner. On arrival, the housemate denies the allegations, before claiming that it's actually him, not the caller, who is the victim. Telling police that the caller has cleared out his room and burnt all his belongings in the garden, the officers are now faced with a confusing situation. And when the housemate kicks off in custody and starts to flood his cell, police have to act fast to prevent an ugly situation from turning violent. Meanwhile, a specialist task force is preparing to raid a local garage suspected of being used to deal cocaine. Officers make a dramatic surprise entry, the owner is arrested, and a man is found with cocaine stashed in his shoe. After several more arrests, the suspects are taken off to custody, before sniffer dogs discover suspicious-looking powder concealed in a vehicle. But will the evidence be enough to secure a charge and keep the suspects remanded? Back at HQ, a desperate call comes in from a care worker. Her client, an elderly woman with dementia, has gone missing. Units are immediately dispatched to find her, but when it becomes clear that the woman is suffering from complex health conditions, the search to find her becomes a matter of life and death.
It's 9pm, and a woman arrives in custody after being arrested on suspicion of causing harm to her baby. Suffering from multiple bleeds on the brain, the baby is in a critical condition, and police suspect that the parents are involved. As the woman is taken off for questioning, her partner is arrested, and both are grilled by detectives determined to get to the truth. But when both deny that they have anything to do with their baby's injuries, will the evidence put before them lead them to crack and reveal what's really happened? At 9.20pm, a task force heads out to raid a factory believed to be used for the large-scale production of cannabis and that's suspected of being linked to a major organised crime group. Police need to seize the grow and arrest anyone inside. But with the knowledge that these gang members are violent and have weapons, will the officers manage to successfully execute the raid unharmed? Meanwhile, back at HQ a call comes in from a woman claiming that her partner is stalking her and has sent messages to her phone threatening to kill her. Knowing that the suspect has a dangerous dog, a specialist unit heads out to make an arrest. Once the suspect is in cuffs, police search his house, looking for the one piece of evidence they need to build a case against him, the mobile allegedly used to send the threatening messages. But as the suspect has a history of destroying evidence, will they be able to find it, and secure enough evidence to keep him behind bars and his partner safe? It's 9.45pm and a woman makes a frantic call, claiming that a friend's son is trying to break into his mother's house. She alleges that the man is a drug addict and is making his mum's life a living hell. When police arrive, the man is agitated and claims he's done nothing wrong. But when officers speak to his mother, a harrowing story of a relationship gone wrong unfolds.
A distressed man calls in to report that his neighbour is acting aggressively in the street outside his home, and police arrive to find a heavily intoxicated male who refuses to co-operate. The situation takes an ugly turn when the suspect physically resists arrest and attempts to bite an officer, and when the police do a quick check of their records, they discover that the man is wanted for far more than a breach of the peace.
In this Best Of compilation show, we see Derbyshire Police pushed to their very limits in one action-packed hour of drama and suspense. The night kicks off with the hunt for a man wanted for a series of armed robberies, which have been terrifying the local community. When they finally find him, the man denies he's the suspect the police are looking for. But when, under a mattress, detectives find the weapon he's been brandishing in the face of shop assistants across town, the game might be up on this one-man crime spree. Meanwhile, officers across the county receive a state zero emergency call — a block of flats is on fire, and the residents are still inside. Arriving before the fire brigade, the race is on to get everyone evacuated. But when one flat owner fails to answer his door, police start to fear the worse. Across town, officers blue light to a local supermarket, where a man has been spotted wielding a large knife. The shop is crowded and the general public are in real danger. Will the police be able to disarm the man before anyone gets injured? Back at HQ, a specialist unit is preparing to catch a suspected drug dealer red-handed. Intel suggests he's been travelling into the city dealing Class A drugs and has evaded arrest many times before. Today, the police want to beat him at his own game and six units are dispatched to stop his car. But when the dealer spots the police, a highspeed car chase ensues, before he ditches his vehicle and tries to make a getaway on foot. Will the police be able to outrun him and finally bring this seasoned criminal to justice? Finally, a frantic call comes in from a member of the public reporting a gang of people fighting in the street, and one of them has a machete. Police blue light to the street, but everyone has vanished. Officers have a hunch they know who one of the suspects might be. Knocking on his door, no one is home, but a search of the empty house reveals an empty machete sheaf on the kitchen table. Seconds later, the man returns to the scene, and is immediately arrested. But when he starts to abuse officers, the situation quickly turns ugly.
