Raw Toonage

Raw Toonage was an anthology that comprised three series featuring new, never-before-seen characters. Almost every episode had its own host: a famous Disney character, such as Ludwig von Drake, Launchpad, Goofy, Scrooge McDuck etc, who demonstrated amusing tricks and showed the cartoons to the audience.

The cartoons included:
He's Bonkers - a slapstick comedy about a zany bobcat named Bonkers, his pal Jitters the toon dog who always got into troubles and a toon girl named Fawn Deer whom Bonkers tried to court.
Marsupilami - a series featuring the jungle animal Marsupilami, his best friend Maurice the ape and his nemesis Norman. The main character was a fictional creature that resembled a monkey and a jungle cat at the same time; he was created by the Belgian cartoonist André Franquin in 1952, but had appeared only in comic books until 1992.
Totally Tasteless Videos - shorts that spoofed other cartoons, movies and TV series.

Raw Toonage was supposed to have 13 episodes, including 12 host sequences, 13 He's Bonkers shorts, 16 Marsupilami cartoons and 12 Totally Tasteless Videos. However, the series was cancelled after 12 episodes. Two of the host sequences, two He's Bonkers cartoons and one of the Totally Tasteless Videos were never completed.

Despite the fiasco of the series, two of the characters survived: Bonkers and Marsupilami were considered attractive enough to get their own series, Bonkers and Marsupilami, respectively.
