The RTL II News is a news program that targets a young audience. When the program debuted in 1993, the network tried to copy the coverage of US-American news programs. Under the name RTL 2 Action News, the network used bold fonts and sound effects, while tabloid topics defined the program.
The network changed the concept in 1996, after the audience didn't appeal to the news program and simply aired a short version, now called RTL 2 Nachrichten.
In 1998, the network relaunched it's news program once again. A mix of breaking news, lifestyle, trends and gossip fill a fifteen minute program that still airs today.
