unknown.
Property expert Sarah Beeny and her family swap London life for a new start on a 220-acre, semi-derelict former dairy farm in Somerset, where they plan to build a modern stately home of their dreams.
In this first episode, the family start to adapt to their new life, and draw up plans for their ambitious modern stately home. Later, the whole family help out with lambing season.
In the second episode, Sarah and her husband Graham await news from the local council, while the family get to work planting 1,000 young trees they have bought to improve the biodiversity on the farm.
This time, the family head to a poultry farm that sells a vast array of chickens, ducks and peacocks to the public. Later, Sarah and Graham explore how to make the farm pay for itself by heading off to find out how to make cider at a local cider mill.
In this episode, Sarah and Graham get to work on the foundations of their new dream house, while Raffey and Laurie try to bring in some extra cash for the farm with a petting zoo for the public. Sarah wants to one day plant a truffle wood on the farm and has high hopes that Maple the dog can be trained to sniff truffles out, so she heads off to meet truffle hunter Tom to find out more.
In the fifth episode, the family continue their plans to diversify the farm and test out whether they have enough space to turn some of the land into a glamping site. Before they commit to anything, they invite some friends and family to spend the weekend glamping with them.
In the sixth episode, Sarah and Graham face new problems as the ground floor of the new home is completely flooded due to a downpour of rain. Later, the family decide they want to adopt some hens from a battery farm, to join the ones they bought from a poultry farm that live a happy, free-range life in their garden.
The building work on Sarah and Graham's new home resumes, as a Covid-safe team arrive back at the farm. And four alpacas come to stay, in Sarah's bid to make a menagerie of animals a success.
Sarah and Graham have a go at harvesting their own honey to make a surprisingly delicious condiment. And after years of dreaming, the first stage of building their new home is finally completed.
