The team are also called into action when an adder bites a woman on Arran, causing her to come very close to death.
In this episode, a teenager is transported from the Isle of Coll after suffering from a severe asthma attack, and a family are flown by the ScotSTAR team to Birmingham for their daughter to undergo a lifesaving liver and bowel transplant. And a premature baby is transported from Kilmarnock to Glasgow for emergency medical care.
In this episode, a baby who is born hypoxic is transferred by the ScotSTAR team after being chilled to below normal body temperature to hopefully reduce the chances of long-term brain damage. Helimed 2 is flying north to assist an elderly gentleman who has had a fall and has been lying on his bedroom floor in a remote cottage for three days.
