Secrets of the Zoo: Tampa embraces the wild side of the Sunshine State. With a stellar zoo team devoted to the exotic cast of animals, this dedicated team cares for both their lovable zoo family as well as rescues and rehabs animals in need, including orphaned black bear cubs, injured panthers, manatees, otters and alligators.
The ZooTampa family is growing as Ceduna the Female Koala has a baby inside her pouch! Meanwhile, Bruce, a beloved Aldabra Tortoise, falls ill and gets breakfast in bed. Stuart, a pale stingray, soaks up some Florida sun in order to get back his color and his groove!
It's spring at ZooTampa, and the alligators, skunks and bears are emerging from hibernation. On this episode, a newborn bear cub is rushed to the zoo after being abandoned by its mother. A lemur experiences its first seasonal allergies. Meanwhile, a training drill involving sloths tests everyone's patience.
Love is in the air at ZooTampa, but One-horned Rhino Johnny misses his love connection, while RanDee the Orangutan is learning to respond to different trainers using her favorite reward: strawberries. Five juvenile indigo snakes are finally ready to make their voyage into the wild!
Baby fever takes over ZooTampa! The penguin keepers are on egg watch with the hope that penguin parents, Rocky and Thumbelina, hatch two new chicks. Team Asia pairs its mating Malayan tigers with anticipation of breeding a cub, and Dr. Ray rescues an abandoned newborn river otter, which he plans to nurse back to health and eventually return to the wild.
A rescued Florida panther demands veterinary staff attention, while a bear cat mating pair settles into its new home. Meanwhile, a feisty zebra zig zags its way through a hoof trim, and a pair of angry Komodo dragons feasts!
After more than 15 years in the ZooTampa family, chimpanzees Twiggy, Jamie and Nick are ready to retire! The team says heartfelt goodbyes while preparing the trio for the voyage to their new San Francisco home. Meanwhile, the staff welcomes rescued manatees Roomba and Kayo to the newly renovated ZooTampa Manatee hospital.
