Mother Nature levels the playing field this alligator season, unleashing a host of challenges that push hunters to new limits. Water levels have plummeted to unprecedented lows, as temperatures soar to scorching new heights. In response, the hunters try new strategies. King of the Swamp Troy Landry launches a daring plan to bag a hundred gators on the first day. Ashley "Deadeye" Jones returns for her second season as Captain, armed with a hit-list and an unbeatable strategy. Ronnie and Timmy try to defy the odds, by returning to locations that delivered last season. And Leron and Porkchop try for a personal best, vying to break their record for most gators nabbed in one day.

The Swamp is like never before and the hunters are fighting back with radical new strategies. King of the Swamp Troy Landry attempts a grueling double shift, running lines both morning and evening. Joey tests out his father's airboat with Zak, hoping it will grant them access to deep water holes. Despite his age, Daniel Edgar puts it all on the line to catch the biggest gator in the family. After forgetting their rifle bullets, Ashley and Anna have no choice but to fill their boat with only a five-shot pistol and Anna's bow.

As a historic heatwave roasts the swamp, hunters unleash bold new strategies to fill their boats and come out of the bayou in one piece. With the heat index pushing a record-setting 126 degrees, King of the Swamp Troy Landry relies on his swamp ingenuity to find the coolest water in the bayou. Jacob risks losing his entire day's catch as he runs his lines in reverse. Joey and Zak attempt to chase big gators in cool, open waters, but their treble hook strategy hits an early roadblock. Ronnie pushes himself to the limit in the scorching marsh and threatening to bring his season to an early end.

Desperate to gain an upper hand on Mother Nature, hunters rethink their strategies, and push into new locations armed with brand new weapons. Ronnie moves his lines out of the scorching marsh and into the shaded cypress swamps, but soon finds himself going toe-to-toe with the King of the Swamp. Ashley gambles on a journey deep into unfamiliar territory behind a locked gate. Daniel tests out a brand new pheromone-soaked bait to attract giant bull gators. Determined to get gators from the warm waters to the buyers as fast as possible, Willie snipes every gator he sees, but his son demands his own shot.

A relentless drought and sweltering temperatures drop water levels to their lowest point in decades, and access to the best honey holes in the swamp are nearly impassable. Facing the prospect of losing thousands of dollars, hunters take huge risks to fill tags. King of the Swamp Troy Landry calls in help from veteran hunter Bruce Mitchell, whose special boat and motor allow him access to the shallowest sloughs. But Bruce is soon confronted by a massive roadblock. Willie and Little Willie blast into their favorite honey hole--The Flats--but a full boat of giants and motor issues might prevent them from leaving. Joey and Zak take their new airboat on an overland excursion to Froggy Bayou that threatens to blow up their engine, and their season. Jacob and Don bet on deep water bayous where they think gators will gather, but a blood-thirsty cannibal gator throws them a curveball.

As the season hits full stride, alligators begin changing their behaviors--and the hunters must adjust to stay one step ahead. Joey and Zak swap their trademark weapons (treble hook vs. fishing rod)  to see who can nab the biggest bulls. Troy and Pickle head for The Boneyard, where hidden, underwater dangers threaten to sink their boat at any moment. Ashley and Anna answer a call to help community where aggressive gators have moved into the local swimming hole. Leron and Porkchop launch two conflicting baiting strategies, hoping one will be victorious. Ronnie hurries to finish his hunt so he can attend his college football hall of fame ceremony, but unforeseen obstacles stand in his way.

As gators hide deeper in the swamp, the hunters launch into full pursuit. Ronnie and Timmy chase a legendary gator that's been on the run for years. Willie Edwards and his son Little Willie head to an isolated body of water to chase a behemoth that's causing trouble. Jacob and Don mount up in an airboat for the first time to reach the farthest backwater ponds. Bruce attempts to help the Landrys fill tags in a shallow hole, but boat problems soon derail his hunt. Daniel and Dorien go after gators rod and reel, but when Daniel struggles, Dorien takes matters into his own hands.

As gator season approaches the halfway point, Troy and Pickle hunt a haunted honey hole with a checkered past. Bruce searches for the monster threatening a local swimming hole. Leron tests a new twist on an age-old baiting strategy. Dorien takes the reigns of the Edgar boat for a day, but his grandpa Daniel struggles to take a backseat. Joey and Zak chase a notorious beast, called Crawdaddy, that's been tormenting local fishermen.

Midway through gator season, hunters aim to settle old scores. Willie chases a nasty gator called Renegade who lives up to his name. Ronnie pulls double duty when Timmy arrives with his arm in a sling. Anna surprises Ashley by making a bet with Don over which team will catch the most gators. Don tries to keep the wager secret from his captain, until a string of bad luck puts them behind. 75-year-old Daniel pushes himself to the limit in his first solo hunt in years.

As gator season roars into its final weeks, Ronnie challenges Troy's title as King of the Swamp. The Landry's battle a poacher and race to make up for losses. Bruce's boat motor buckles under the strain of the long season, threatening to strand him far from home. Joey and Zak protect a rancher's cattle from blood thirsty beasts.

As the full moon drives gators into a feeding frenzy, Ashley makes a crucial mistake. Daniel chases a legendary 13-footer called Triple XL. Troy and Pickle battle a moon-crazed menace with a taste for gator. Leron and Porkchop use a radical new bait to target their biggest gator ever.

As gator season enters its final week, Troy attempts to train the next generation of Landry hunters. Ronnie calls upon Timmy's knowledge of secret honey holes to catch up on his tag count. Daniel and Joey embark on a rare father-son adventure. Bruce struggles to navigate a borrowed boat. Jacob and Don set an ambitious quota to catch four 10-foot monsters in one day.

As gator season enters the homestretch, Troy and Pickle chase a hook breaking monster. Wille and Little Willie set an ambitious goal to turn their season around. Ashley uses a tip from the King of the Swamp to target a giant. Bruce puts it all on the line on his final day in the swamp. Leron and Porkchop aim to put an end to a fishing hole menace.

As pressure mounts in the swamp, Troy and Pickle risk their lives in the oil fields. Joey and Zak attempt to knock Mr. Daniel off his throne, but the Edgar Patriarch refuses to go down without a fight. Don tests an invention he thinks could revolutionize gator hunting. Ronnie calls upon a higher power to save his season.

With just three days left in the season, a cold front sends gators into hiding. Willie and Little Willie split up for the first time ever to cover more ground, and Little Willie feels the pressure of being his own Captain. Daniel brings along Joey and Zak to his most secret honey hole, the hot springs, to capitalize on its warm waters. Ashley and Anna set their sights on accessing a hidden bayou full of giants.

On the final day of the season, the lingering cold front is giving gators "lock jaw" at the worst possible time. Needing to fill a record-setting 900 tags this season and having never failed to tag-out, the King of the Swamp gambles on a wild new bait to keep his perfect streak intact. Ronnie enlists Ashley's help to finish his season by making her equal partners in their business. Jacob and Don split up to run lines and snipe at the same time. Porkchop surprises Leron with a secret weapon he's been saving for the last day.
