Next Episode of Wild Bill is
not planed. TV Show was canceled.
When high-flying US police chief Bill Hixon lands in Boston, Lincolnshire, with his 14 year-old daughter Kelsey in tow, he's hoping they can flee their painful recent past. But this unfamiliar, unimpressed community will force Bill to question everything about himself and leave him asking whether it's Boston that needs Bill, or Bill that needs Boston?
Bill launches a PR offensive when a leaked list of potential redundancies turns his team against him, and courts Boston's old folks by claiming his new approach will make them safer.
However, when a routine burglary turns out to be something much bigger, Bill finds himself facing a public panic, fuelled by The Stump.
Discovering DNA in one of the burglary scenes, the team find a match, but with the culprit missing, they go to visit his estranged daughter, Alma, who works at the local library. With Alma not having seen her father since she was young, the team must work hard to track him down.
Meanwhile, Bill's relationship with Mary begins to deepen and Oleg keeps up the pressure on Muriel.
When the body of young local man Will Mowbray is found between two rival farms, a bitter feud is reignited. With the two families – the Merricks and the Gilchrists – having been enemies for over 30 years, the team must deduce which of them is responsible.
Bill and Muriel find themselves on opposite sides and both are determined to prove themselves correct. Muriel believes that Ray Gilchirst is the culprit, whilst Bill is convinced that Audrey Merrick is to blame.
Meanwhile, Bill wrestles with introducing Mary to Kelsey, Kelsey makes a new friend at the local comprehensive, and Lydia resents doing Bill's dirty work as the redundancies commence.
Suspicion falls on members of the immigrant workforce after a suitcase containing the body of farm owner Darren Bailey is pulled from the river. Bill discovers that the farm had been used to launder criminal proceeds through the clever accounting of the victim's much younger Slovenian girlfriend, Lubica, who has been made sole owner of the farm's assets. This makes her a key suspect, particularly after it's revealed that her and Darren had an argument on the night he went missing. However, with many of Darren's employees seeming happy at the news of his demise, and stories coming to light about how he squeezed them at every opportunity, it isn't an open and shut case.
The discovery of a pyre of bodies puts Bill on the hunt for Frank McGill, a hitman notorious for his weapon of choice - a nail-gun. However, having been put into witness protection years earlier after turning in other members of the Maguire gang he worked for, Frank is now off-grid, so Bill sets his sights on tracking him down. Meanwhile, DS Blair is released on bail after information is leaked regarding the unlawful obtaining of key DNA, Commissioner Metcalfe discusses the financial benefits of selling off a disused training facility and the pressure mounts for Bill to resign.
