The ANOC Awards was held for the first time in Bangkok in 2014 and has been held every year since then.The event was created in order to recognise and honour the achievements of the NOCs and their athletes as well as distinguished members of the Olympic Family. Held each year, the event is an opportunity for the world's NOCs come together in a relaxed and entertaining environment and enjoy an evening celebrating sport.
The ANOC Awards 2019 was held on 17 October at the Katara Cultural Village in Doha, Qatar and attracted representatives from across the world's 206 NOCs.
The ceremony was focused on the Continental Games and celebrated the Best Male Athlete and Best Female Athletes of each of the five Continental Games which had taken place over the previous 18 months. There were also Outstanding Performance and Outstanding Athlete awards, as well as an Outstanding Lifetime Achievement award and Contribution to the Olympic Movement award.
After a one year break, the ANOC Awards returned in style in 2021 as it celebrated the best athletes and NOCs from the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
The ceremony was held in the beautiful Creta Maris Beach Resort on 24 October 2021 and was broadcast live on Greek channel ERT and streamed on the ANOC YouTube channel. Delegates from nearly 150 NOCs were in the amphitheatre to watch the spectacular ceremony in person.
The ANOC Awards 2022 will take place on 19 October at the COEX Auditorium located in the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
This year, we will be recognising the best individual male and female athletes, as the best teams of the Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022 and their exceptional sporting achievements throughout the year, as well as awarding two individual accolades – Outstanding Sporting Career and Most Outstanding Achievement of an NOC
