Millions of single women had mixed emotions when Chris Soules, the stylish farmer from Iowa, was sent home by Andi Dorfman on The Bachelorette. One of the final three men, Chris was dismissed after he had emotionally confessed his love to Andi, but that meant the handsome bachelor was back on the market. Now, he is ready to put his heartache behind him to search for the one missing piece in his life - true love - when he stars in the 19th edition of ABC's hit romance reality series, The Bachelor.
The 33-year-old Midwestern bachelor and self-proclaimed romantic has been engaged once before. Heartbroken, Chris ended that seven-year relationship just months before he expected to walk down the aisle. Although his relationship with his fiancée was good, he didn't want to settle for "good." He wanted "great." While the humble but enormously successful farmer from tiny Arlington, Iowa (pop. 427) has found it difficult to date, that hasn't stopped him from having faith that one day he will find the perfect woman for him. His experience on The Bachelorette made him realize that love really is out there, and he is confident that he will find it this time on The Bachelor. (source: abc.go.com)
"Sliders" alum Charlie O'Connell slips into the role of romantic lead for the dating game's seventh round of roses and rejection. This time, the rules go out the window as multiple eliminations pop up randomly and the 25 women get more chances to speak their minds about the man of the hour.
Charlie goes on two one-on-one dates: a dinner at a New York restaurant; then a walk through a park, followed by a water-taxi ride. Later, the singleton has a poolside date with the other 10 ladies.
Hometown dates with his final four clue Charlie in to one lady's seeming obsession with him and the intentions of another's still-attached ex-beau. Afterward, one more woman is sent packing.
Faced with a pair of one-on-one dates, Charlie decides to take things a step further by inviting one of the hopefuls back to his place. Meanwhile, the women let loose with an all-girl party to pass the time before two of them get the boot.
Shopping sprees, hayloft chats and a fencing match for the chance at a one-on-one date leave the six women wondering which two of them will be heading home after Charlie hands out his roses.
Charlie spirits his three remaining ladies off to Aruba, where a romantic one-on-one date has an unseen third wheel and a hopeful backs out of an overnight assignation.
In a break from tradition, only 12 of the original 25 ladies who were looking to land Charlie O'Connell return to rip into one another and receive words of wisdom from Charlie's final two hopefuls.
Charlie brings the remaining two ladies home to meet the folks before making his pick. But before any hearts are broken, there are also overnight dates at Casa O'Connell in New York and a couple of trips to the jewelry store.
In the sixth-season finale, Byron must decide if he wants to propose to one of his final ladies-in-waiting or walk away from both. But before a decision is given, it's off to pick engagement rings just in case. Chris Harrison hosts.
