The Buccaneers (UK)

This is a BBC mini-series about four rich American girls who travel to Victorian England in search of husbands, adapting Edith Wharton's unfinished novel and directed by Philip Saville. (Not to be confused with the U.S. production of 'The Buccaneers' for television in 1956.) The series aired in Great Britain in February and March of 1995 and in October of the same year in the United States as an installment of Masterpiece Theatre. Carla Gugino and Mira Sorvino were among the stars.

All five episodes are now available on DVD.
