Dresden must get a private investigators license to continue to work with Chicago PD. Everything is great until his instructor, Jim Brennen, is found dead and Harry must work with Brennen's associate to find out who killed him and why.
Harry's day starts with Bob stolen and then it really gets bad ... his uncle, Justin Morningway, is back from the dead.
Morgan brings Ancient Mai to Harry's place for protection only to end up trapped there by a spell.
A man dies of drowning in the middle of winter on a mid-town street and Murphy has to deal with the fallout from the case along with her estranged father coming to visit.
