Sheku Bayoh was involved in a confrontation with police in May 2015. He was restrained by several officers, who used pepper spray, batons and handcuffs. Shortly thereafter he became unresponsive and was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
In the days, weeks and years following Sheku's death, his family have never been satisfied with the police's account of what happened.
