The Quad follows the ambitious yet secretive life of Eva, the newly elected President of Georgia A&M (an HBCU), her administration, and the entering freshman class. Our freshman are led by Zoe, Eva's rebellious daughter, Cedric, a talented rapper on the come up, and Bojohn, who is looking to achieve victory and success as the school's first white starting quarterback.The staple of Georgia A&M is their prestigious marching band led by their charismatic yet ruthless leader, Art Diamond. Art's power and influence proves a challenge to Eva but she manages to find strong allies in Ella Grace, Dean of the history department, and football coach, Eugene Hardwick. Though the students and faculty of The Quad come from different places and face different challenges, one similarity remains - everyone is looking to make a name for themselves at Georgia A&M.
After winter break, Eva is hit with the news that Terrence Berry's family demands a public apology. Cedric has his first brush with student activism when SGA crashes the Spring Step Up! Cecil Diamond discovers Noni's betrayal. No one at Georgia A&M plans to go down without a fight.
An outbreak of norovirus on the GAMU campus leads to the discovery of a broken refrigeration system, forcing Eva to face Terrence Berry's family a second time to request an extension for the settlement payment.
Eva meets with SGA leaders to propose a solution to Georgia A&M's looming financial crisis. Meanwhile, Noni makes a big play to win back Cecil Diamond's trust.
Days after being hospitalized for an epic panic attack, Eva gets pulled over illegally for "driving while Black". The video of Eva's arrest sends Georgia A&M into a firestorm. Cedric and Ebonie get caught up in resistance fervor, while Sydney turns to Jason for friendship.
Faced with accusations of Xanax in her system, Eva fights for justice against the arresting officer, who has a history of racial profiling. Cedric, rising to a leadership position in the SGA, unintentionally betrays the woman who inspired him to take a stand -- Dr. Eva Fletcher.
Tensions rise when an anti-merger protest deteriorates into a violent clash between an ALT-Right group and the GAMU students. Eva is excited to meet Atlanta State's president, whose career she has always admired. BoJohn faces new challenges to his football career and his relationships with Tiesha and Junior.
The day everyone feared arrives when the Board of Trustees announce the merger is a done deal. Cedric and Ebonie bring back the resistance track to let the Georgia University system know exactly how they feel. Eva feels powerless and seeks solace in prescription pills and alcohol. When a ruthless loan shark comes to collect, Coach's fight to protect his family turns deadly.
Eva discovers that a trustee is responsible for contract irregularities that benefit him, personally. Cedric and Ebonie feel "Rise Up Together" needs a hook, but the only singer who can do it justice is Cedric's ex—Bronwyn.
Students learn the building they fought to protect faces demolition due to the merger. Eva learns there's an upcoming faculty vote to remove her from the presidency. When BoJohn spots the star recruit QB on his turf again, he crumbles under the pressure and has a public meltdown.
GAMU's students decide to take matters into their own hands, it's time for a revolution! Concerned about whether Bronwyn is pregnant or just trying to trap her son, Cedric's mother pays him a surprise visit and then takes matters into her own hands. BoJohn's father shows up ready to take him home and has a man-to-man with Coach Hardwick, who tries to convince BoJohn not to leave.
