Thunderbirds Are Go is a remake of the hit 1960's television show. In the 21st century, Jeff Tracy, a former astronaut, amasses a colossal fortune and decides that he must use it to benefit others. His answer to this desire is to create International Rescue, a unique private emergency response service equipped with customized designed vehicles and equipment that enable the organization to react to any crisis whether it be in sea, air, land, or space. Jeff's five sons volunteer to operate as the pilots and field agents, as well "Brain" who acts as the teams engineer. In addition, Jeff's friend, Kyrano and his daughter Tanusha aka Kayo (based on the original series Tin-Tin character) agree to be the support staff. In addition to the field team, IR also maintains an intelligence network with Lady Penelope and her ex-con chauffeur, Parker as the chief agents in this arm. The series depicts this team as they answer various calls for help around and beyond the world while they prevent enemies like the Hood from learning and exploiting their secrets.
The GDF begin testing a squadron of automated machines - known as R.O. BOTS - to assist with rescues. Scott brings a bot to aid him in a mid-flight rescue, Virgil and Gordon use a bot in a frigid Arctic mission, and Kayo and newly assigned GDF agent Captain Rigby go after Havoc.
The roll out of R.O. BOTS leaves International Rescue with little to do until one of the bots malfunctions during a sky-transport rescue operation. The full efforts of International Rescue provide the human element needed to save the passengers and defeat the Chaos Crew.
When a transporter carrying volatile cargo across a treacherous mountain pass requires assistance, Virgil and Gordon respond and discover Fuse trying to hijack the convoy.
The Gray and Houseman mining operation now includes planet Mercury; it uses a moving vehicle that stays on the 'dark side' of the planet. However, when a malfunctioning pod leaves the vehicle stranded - and with the sun's blazing 'terminus' drifting ever closer -International Rescue are summoned to solve the problem.
The Chaos Crew interrupt the pleasant and quiet life of Ned Tedford to steal the orchard growth serum inside the highly secure Global Seed Vault. Kayo and Rigby respond with the help of John, but things take a turn when a computer virus infects EOS and the serum touches Ned's pet geranium, turning her into Giant Gladys.
When a rockslide pins Captain Taylor and a scientist in a Martian cavern, Virgil and Alan fly to the planet Mars and assist with the aid of Thunderbird 3 and a specialised Exo-Pod. However, circumstances in the cave lead Virgil to eject the air in his suit, leaving our heroes short on air inside a leaking cave.
Lady Penelope and Parker compete in a desert motor race with FAB1 and a racer named Jensen Hunt. All seems well until the Chaos Crew steal an experimental new engine from the leading BR2 vehicle. Our heroes must rescue the racer, steal back the BR2 engine, and outrace Havoc in her Spoiler to get proper medical attention to the BR2 driver.
When two space freighters crash in low-earth orbit, Alan and John must evacuate the hotheaded pilots from a dangerous debris field.
When gas from a dangerous hydromethane reserve begins to leak, Virgil and Gordon team up with a retired well-capping specialist to plug the leak. Gordon soon discovers the Chaos Crew syphoning off fuel - and moves to stop them.
Gordon, Lady Penelope and Parker team up to rescue Scientists from being trapped in an acid sea. After the rescue they go on to repair the damage caused to the Coral.
The Tracys (and their Thunderbird Vehicles) attend a prestigious Global Airshow, and a test pilot unveils the ultra fast "Icarus" superjet.
