Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.
Trigon corrupts the Titans so that Rachel's heart will break... and he can fully enter the Earth dimension to spread death and destruction. Meanwhile, an old foe lurks in the shadows and considers coming out of retirement.
Dick trains Jason, Rachel, and Gar; Hank and Dawn settle into their new life in Wyoming but her old life calls to Dawn; a one-eyed girl goes on a rampage through San Francisco; and Donna and Kory track down one metahuman while another escapes prison.
Deathstroke recruits the first member of his new team to help him find the Titans' weaknesses and determine their strategy. Jason has issues with Dick, Donna, Hank, and Dawn return to Titans Tower, and Kory spends time with a friend from her home planet.
Five years ago, the original Titans--Robin, Wonder Girl, Aqualad, Hawk, and Dove--live in Titans Tower and fight both lowlifes and super-villains like Dr. Light. Deathstroke is hired to kill one of them, while Aqualad deals with his feelings for Wonder Girl.
Deathstroke offers Robin for Rose, and the Titans are torn apart deciding what to do. Gar confirms that Rachel's powers are growing beyond her control.
A humanoid taking the name "Conner" leaves Cadmus Laboratories with a dog, Krypto, after incapacitating the scientists who held him captive. Conner wanders the world trying to find out who he is, and the scientist who created him seeks him out and explains his origins.
After the battle with Deathstroke, Jason tries to come to terms with almost falling to his death. Eve and Krypto find Conner, Dick is haunted by a figure from his past, and Hank, Dawn, Donna, and Rachel are "pranked" by someone lurking in the tower.
In 2014, Dick attempts to get information on Deathstroke by befriending his son, Jericho. However, the Titans soon embrace Jericho as a true friend and reveal the truth to him. Slade reveals his own version of the truth to Jericho, leading to Jericho's death.
After Dick tells the other Titans what he did, the team goes its separate ways: Jason leaves with Rose, Hank and Dawn confront Ellis' sister, Dick goes to apologize to Jericho's mother, Rachel goes off on her own, and Gar mentors Conner when the clone wakes up.
After his intentional attack on two police officers results in his arrest, Dick finally finds peace in a Nevada prison. But the hero he's left behind has not been buried forever. Meanwhile, Rachel befriends a runaway girl and takes her under her wing – only to find that her own powers might not fully be under her control. Back at Titans Tower, Gar is reunited with Conner and Krypto, but when Mercy Graves sets her sights on retrieving "Subject 13" for Cadmus, Gar finds himself caught in the crossfire.
Rachel, Kory, Dawn, and Donna are summoned to a diner by a mysterious host, who tells them that they need to rescue Dick. Meanwhile, Dick suffers in prison and Gar gets Cadmus brain surgery.
Hank battles as Hawk in an underground fight club, trying to cope with life after Dawn. Donna and Dawn track down Gar and Conner, Rose reveals her origin to Jason, and Dick gets a new suit.
Nightwing leads the Titans against first Deathstroke, and then their brainwashed teammates Gar and Conner, The team then decides whether to go their separate ways, and Dick and Bruce come to an understanding.
