For the first time Guy Fieri is heading back to some of his all-time favorite Diners, Drive-ins and Dives spots on Triple D Nation. On this all-new spin on DDD, Guy checks in on some of the most memorable joints he has previously visited to see how they have been doing, and to get a taste of some of the new and classic recipes they are dishing out. Whether they have opened new locations, expanded their old ones, or added to their menus, these restaurants are always pushing the boundaries of their culinary comfort zone.
Guy Fieri's sampling Northeastern takes on nationwide flavors. First, a funky food truck in Fairfield, Conn., also has a brick-and-mortar joint serving Californian hot dogs and chicken nuggets. Then, a Philadelphia tavern is making savory shellfish and serious strombolis overflowing with flavor. Just around the corner in the City of Brotherly Love, a new American restaurant is plating up elevated pub grub like bratwurst rarebit and real-deal Italian chorizo mussels.
Guy Fieri's digging into fresh and fried favorites! First up, a Vietnamese spot in Orlando, Fla., is plating up a legit lotus salad plus a perfect pan-fried noodle. Then, a renovated diner with a funky patio in Philadelphia is doing eggrolls with a Philly twist. Finally in Memphis, Tenn., a real-deal barbecue joint is smokin the-bomb beef brisket and dishing up a killer peanut butter sundae.
On this trip, Guy Fieri's having a turf-and-surf soiree! First, a Brazilian-American fusion place in Orlando, Fla., is serving traditional shrimp stew and savory steak. Then, a soul-food spot in Memphis, Tenn., is dishing out a fierce fried sandwich, and a waterfront joint in Tiverton, R.I., is bringing some killer flavor to next-level seafood platters and chowders.
