The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be bringing out the big guns for what promises to be one of the most talked about events of 2011. In the main event, pound for pound king Anderson ''The Spider'' Silva looks to extend his reign when he defends his middleweight crown against history-seeking Vitor ''The Phenom'' Belfort, a fighter looking to become only the third man to win UFC titles in two weight classes. Plus, light heavyweight superstars Rich Franklin and Forrest Griffin slug it out, and two of the game's rising stars, Jon Jones and Ryan Bader, meet in a clash fight fans have demanded.
UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre defends his title against submission specialist Jake Shields. Champion Jose Aldo takes on Mark Hominick in the UFC's first ever 145-pound championship fight plus Randy Couture battles Lyoto Machida.
Two championship fights set the stage for an unforgettable night of mixed martial arts action. In the UFC 136 main event, the score will finally get settled between lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and unbeaten number one contender Gray Maynard as they battle it out for the third time.
UFC 137 features the return of top ranked welterweight Nick Diaz, as he faces former two-division UFC champion BJ Penn. Plus two heavyweight matchups are on tap, as Cheick Kongo meets Matt Mitrione, and Mirko Cro Cop takes on Roy Nelson.
For UFC 138, the action travels overseas to Birmingham, England for the first five round non-title main event in UFC history as Chris ''The Crippler'' Leben battles Mark ''The Filipino Wrecking Machine'' Munoz on a card that also features bantamweight sensation Renan Barao and welterweight knockout artist Thiago ''Pitbull'' Alves.
Four of mixed martial arts' most revered superstars delivered two of the best fights of 2011 as headliners of UFC 139 in San Jose. In the main event, former Strikeforce and PRIDE two-division champion Dan Henderson returned to the UFC for a five-round epic against former UFC light heavyweight title holder Mauricio ''Shogun'' Rua. And in the co-main bout, it was bombs away for Sanshou master Cung Le and Brazil's ''Axe Murderer,'' Wanderlei Silva, in a brawl you have to see to believe. Plus, former world champs collide, as Urijah Faber meets Brian Bowles.
Light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will attempt to cap off the greatest year in UFC history in Toronto, as he defends his title for the second time at UFC 140 against former champion Lyoto Machida. Plus, the star power is at an all-time high when Brazillian heroes Minotauro Nogueira and Rogerio Nogueira take on UFC superstars Frank Mir and Tito Ortiz in bouts you won't want to miss.
