Kate Humble helps people looking for a simpler life in the country.
Kate Humble follows people who have started new lives in the country. In Wales, she meets Richard and Dawn who have moved to a traditional Welsh longhouse, 76 miles west in rural Ceredigion. This ambitious move will not only make them all mortgage-free, but give them the chance to live off the land and become burgeoning rural entrepreneurs.
Kate Humble visits Reading, where mum Helen, dad Ash and their two sons, Ben and Joe, plus a small menagerie of animals-are bursting out of their cramped two-bed suburban bungalow.
Kate meets married couple Matt and Uzma feeling crammed into a two-bedroom flat.
This time, Kate is in Norfolk to meet married couple Kat and Louis who have decided it is time for a completely fresh start in the country. With Louis's parents Mark and Sue also making this move, the two generations of family have pooled their financial resources and have managed to find a stunning 18th century former-mill house, set within three acres of idyllic Norfolk countryside.
The presenter is in London to meet Ria, a woman on a mission who - despite the reservations of friends and family - is looking to follow her long-held dream of a life in the English countryside. Tired of the capital's noise, pollution and long commutes, and unable to afford its property prices, Ria is trading in her cramped, one-bed rented flat, costing her £1,250 a month, and making the move 130 miles west to rural Somerset to buy her very first home.
Kate is in Devon, where couple Sid and Sarah want to realise their long-held dream of living in a big house in the country. They have found a stunning five-bedroom farmhouse with four acres of land, complete with outbuildings that Sid has already earmarked for a fantastic workshop, and enough outdoor space to keep hens and grow their own fruit and vegetables.
