The documentary giving an insight into the working life of officers patrolling Britain's roads transfers to Channel 5, following Yorkshire police forces tackling an ever-more sophisticated criminal fraternity from the cities to the Dales.
Officers clamp down on dangerous and illegal drivers, from those under the influence of drink or drugs to those without insurance or a valid licence. Derbyshire's road crime team goes on a high-speed pursuit of a reckless disqualified driver who fails to stop, while police respond to a call from a member of public about a crash in which two cars have collided head on, with one on its roof with people trapped inside.
Officers chase a suspected stolen vehicle believed to be using fake number plates. As the car fails to stop, more units join the pursuit and are aided by a heroic member of the public who chases the driver as he tries to get away. A call comes in about a fight in a pub, where a male customer has allegedly been assaulted by a woman who is being aggressive. In Chesterfield, a woman is caught driving her partner's car with no licence and no insurance.
Derbyshire officers take part in Operation Fuego, a week-long, five forces strong campaign targeting road crime gangs using cloned vehicle registration plates to hide their tracks while transporting drugs, cash and stolen vehicles across the country. After a lengthy pursuit down the motorway, officers surround and box in a car full of youths thought to be involved in stealing from HGVs at motorway services and lorry parks.
In this episode, Officers attend a road traffic collision in bad weather, where a motorbike rider is trapped under a car. When the police arrive, they discover that, luckily for the rider, the local community including an off-duty nurse have come together to assist whilst waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
Across Derbyshire, officers clamp down on drivers putting other road users' lives at risk, as well as their own. Near Chesterfield, a suspected uninsured and unlicensed driver recklessly fails to stop, speeding past young children in a local housing estate before disappearing. After a long search, the car is found parked up near a suspect's address, and an investigation begins to identify the driver.
With illegal car meet-ups and antisocial driving becoming an increasing problem across the county, officers pull over a high performance vehicle following reports of the driver live streaming on social media doing speeds of over a hundred and seventy miles an hour. Officers find themselves caught on camera and under pressure when locals film during a routine stop check.
Traffic Cops investigate the case of a driver who crashed into a lorry after drinking heavily and then racing his friend's car with his family also inside. CCTV from various sources including the lorry the driver crashed into, helps officers crack the case.
