The documentary giving an insight into the working life of officers patrolling Britain's roads transfers to Channel 5, following Yorkshire police forces tackling an ever-more sophisticated criminal fraternity from the cities to the Dales.
In this first episode of the new series, the traffic cops clamp down on young drivers causing danger on north Yorkshire's roads. In the Yorkshire Dales, the traffic cops hunt down a young man believed to be drug driving who's failed to stop in a suspected stolen car and escaped on foot into fields. On the outskirts of York, officers suspect drugs are involved when a young driver smashes head-on into a lorry at speed. Near Selby, cops are forced to use a stinger and puncture three tyres in a bid to try and stop a repeat drunk and drugged driver, who seems determined to avoid arrest at all costs. And officers are left shocked when they stop a drug driver who's just been released from custody, but then gets behind the wheel again while still testing positive.
A tip-off leads to a major drugs bust in North Yorkshire, as well as the arrest of a suspected drug runner travelling through the county with a massive huge haul of cannabis. Near York, police cameras trigger an alert for a stolen van and when the vehicle is eventually stopped, officers are surprised to find two young children in the van being driven by their dad - who doesn't have a licence.
A prolific car thief with a string of convictions under his belt crashes and rolls a stolen car at over 100mph, while in Harrogate the hunt for a cloned car and disqualified driver leads to a high-speed pursuit. The suspect leaps from the moving car and leaves it driverless, heading downhill straight towards a busy main road during the rush hour.

From the Peak District to the M1, hundreds of thousands of vehicles travel through Derbyshire every day, and the county is often used by criminals and suspects on the move as a cross-country corridor. Near the M1, a counter terrorism operation brings traffic to a standstill. Also, in this episode, intelligence about a persistent disqualified driver already on a suspended prison sentence leads the Traffic Cops to an arrest and leaves a father of two facing jail time.

A 70-year-old motorcyclist crashes down a steep 15ft embankment, but is spared serious injury as a clever gadget on his back comes to his rescue.
Officers begin an investigation after a driver loses control of his car and hits a motorway central reservation before spinning out of control and crossing two live lanes of the A1. The driver claims a mechanical fault caused the crash, but officers think differently when he is quizzed about his phone being used at the time of the accident. In York, a pedestrian is knocked down and left with serious head injuries, and police officers have to find out what happened and who is at fault.
In North Yorkshire, more than a thousand drink-drivers are arrested every year meaning police are always looking out for suspicious cars and drivers taking their chances. Near Wetherby, a pursuit of a suspected drug driver reaches speeds of 130 mph before it ends with a head-on smash with a police car, while police receive reports that a driver has crashed his car down an embankment into a holiday home near Scarborough and fled the scene. Suspicions run high when a driver collides with a motorbike and then downs pints of beer in his local pub straight after the accident.
