Bangers & Cash follows the Mathewsons - a dynasty of classic car auctioneers from picturesque North Yorkshire. The charismatic and friendly family hunt for rare vehicles to sell and they uncover some remarkable and heartwarming stories behind the cars as they do.
Derek picks up a lovingly restored 1925 Calthorpe motorbike that he thinks is more of a work of art than anything ever produced by Picasso. There's a barn-find Triumph TR4A and a family from Lancashire add another vehicle to their collection of Rootes manufactured cars. Meanwhile, Paul and Charlie collect a pair of veteran motors from the East Midlands.
A rusty 1970 Fiat 500 goes under the hammer - Derek reckons it's the kind of vehicle that is so iconic that it has to be saved.
Tucked away in the showroom is a WW2-era Willys Jeep. Its original condition means there might be a bunfight for a military vehicle that's ripe for restoration.
Up for auction this week is a 1980 Ford Escort, a hand-built 1946 Bedford 12 electric car, and a beautiful, red 1957 Austin Healey.
Derek collects a beautifully restored and carefully modified 1936 Wolseley 14/56. Meanwhile Dave's dealing with two rally-inspired modern classics in need of some TLC; a Vauxhall Chevette HS and a Ford RS2000. A Batman inspired Chrysler Crossfire is dropped off at the Thornton le Dale garage and a BMW DNEPR motorcycle sidecar combo is up for grabs.
Paul's doing the pick-ups in Lancashire where a rare 1960 Vauxhall Cresta PA Friary estate in dusky pink awaits.
A vivid Dutch DAF 66 - in daffodil yellow - lands at the North Yorkshire showroom.
Paul's on a big day out collecting a 1971 Jaguar E-Type and a 1933 Morgan 3-wheeler Supersport but first there's a flock of 300 chickens to negotiate before he can load up.
Dave's in fast car heaven as he picks up a rare Subaru Impreza and an equally powerful Ford Escort RS Cosworth from North Wales.
A rare 1968 Honda N600 car emerges from a lock up in County Durham and Derek's in Scotland to collect an original RAC Bedford van.
Derek collects five beautiful veteran motorbikes from an enthusiast who is still happily riding in his 90s. A vividly coloured 1955 Nash Metropolitan brightens up the auction room.
A rare and much-loved 1964 Ford Capri Consul coupe comes up for auction and Paul takes a 1957 Leyland Comet truck for a spin.
