Gold Rush follows six men who, in the face of an economic meltdown, risk everything - their families, their dignity, and in some cases, their lives - to strike it rich mining for gold in the wilds of Alaska. Inspired by his father Jack, Todd Hoffman of Sandy, Oregon, leads a group of greenhorn miners to forge a new frontier and save their families from dire straits. While leasing a gold claim in Alaska, Todd and his company of newbies face the grandeur of Alaska as well as its hardships, including an impending winter that will halt operations and the opportunity to strike gold. In an effort to keep the operation running, the team takes fate into their own hands with a make or break venture that will change their lives forever.
Parker makes a purchase that shocks the entire team. Tony clamps down on his son Mike's operation. Kevin starts his first full week of sluicing.
Rick gambles all his profits on a risky Duncan Creek cut. Parker's team leans on the new Sulphur Creek claim to keep their hot streak alive. Monica steps in with a solution to Tony's Indian River problems.
Parker chases a new red pay layer to keep his hot streak alive. Kevin Beets tries to run 24/7 with a green crew to get more gold. Rick's crew suffers an equipment meltdown while digging deep for Vegas Valley gold.
Brennan confronts Kevin about a lack of equipment. Tony comes down hard on Mike when a side dumper crashes in a ditch. Parker brings in monster dirt haulers, hoping to get 1,000 ounces of gold weekly.
Rick confronts foreman Buzz, throwing down an ultimatum. Hoping for a big score, Parker fires back up on Sulphur Creek. Tony and Monica go on a treasure hunt at the Hester Cut.
Parker investigates a forgotten section of Dominion Creek, Rick expands his ambitions at Vegas Valley, and Kevin loses an excavator just as his pay pile runs out.
