Each programme aims to give an insider's guide to what to buy for Christmas by testing, rating and reviewing the very latest products jostling for a place under the tree.
Tonight, Phillip reveals the must-have toys for Christmas 2017, starting by tasking Jonathan Ross with investigating this year's festive craze – the unicorn – as well as examining the revival of nostalgic toys from Christmas' past.Stacey Solomon and her sons join other families to test the latest physical board games for Christmas day. Journalist and ‘toyologist' Peter Jenkinson is on hand to give his predictions on this year's best-selling Christmas toys, along with his top tips on how to get hold of them.Chris and Kem try out some of the most popular children's scooters. With 2,500 versions on the market they ask which one should be on Christmas lists. Additionally, the latest high tech toys are put to the test by six sets of twins to try to determine if their extra interactivity is worth the money.Phillip also road tests some of the more unusual toys on offer this year, to try to determine if they make truly fabulous presents or just faddy gifts that won't last beyond the cold turkey trimmings. Tonight it's the turn of ‘Cozmo the Robot', ‘Bubblelick' and ‘Soundmoovz'.
This time, Phillip is joined by his wife Stephanie as they investigate what partners should buy each other this Christmas.Lisa Smosarski, editor-in-chief of Stylist Magazine, is on hand to help Phillip and Stephanie navigate the minefield that is gift-giving, with suggestions for big ticket items as well as stocking fillers.Phillip teams up with fellow enthusiast Vernon Kay to try out some of the most popular drones on the market – although their flying skills are put to shame by Luke Bannister, the 17-year-old UK drone racing champion. And the big gadget for this Christmas, the voice activated speaker, is put under the microscope.Coleen Nolan heads to Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield to see which perfume the British public prefers in a blind test – an expensive designer brand or a cheap high street imitation. And the Real Housewives of Cheshire get their hands on the hottest handbags.Among the more unusual gifts which Phillip tests this time is a hydrophobic stain-free shirt, the Illumibowl – a motion activated light for your toilet, and the ‘Licki Brush', a giant tongue shaped brush you hold in your mouth then use to groom your cat.
