Livstid follows investigator Victoria Woll and her colleagues. The series opens with an older Woll in her 60s serving a long prison sentence, with each episode then following Woll in the past as her team solves a crime, slowly revealing how she ended up behind bars.
ictoria's protector, Klaus, warns her that she must find some friends. She hatches a plan to make her situation easier while also undermining Devold. Ayla and Victoria discover that nothing is as it seems with the murder of a young woman.
The future Victoria is more isolated than ever when a vital source of support is vanquished. In the present, politician Olivia Mohr's death takes Victoria and the team to unfamiliar spaces, where team members' attitudes towards particular issues drive them towards conflict.
In the future, Victoria is offered a chance to escape by a young prison guard who is collaborating with Michael. Back in the present, when a serious influenza pandemic threatens the country, Victoria is hailed as a hero when she stops an illegal shipment of important drugs out of the country. However, this action has terrifying consequences for Johannes.
Victoria wants to prove her innocence from the inside. In the present, Victoria is on the run, suspected of kidnapping and murder. But her team are catching up fast, prepared to show her loyalty and support. Will it be enough?
