We gain unique access to two police departments, where cameras reveal the daily challenges faced by officers striving to maintain safety on the 39,000 miles of highway. From dashcam footage showing shocking incidents nationwide to the humorous moments on the job, witness the chaotic reality of policing as in Clifton, New Jersey Patrolman Nick Garutto is called to an exploding minibus and attends a three-car crash on Route 21, one of the Garden State's most dangerous roads. A wobbly driver admits drinking alcohol in his car; a man with a trumpet gives Officer Bill Gibson some cheek; and a wanted Lamborghini driver takes off on Patrolman Maurice Marsilla,
while his arm is still in the car.
The Motorway Cops of Clifton continue their fight to keep New Jersey's roads safe. Malek Badeer stops a car with a dangerous DIY repair job, Patrolman Matt Rugel's traffic stop proves an unfortunate end for a wanted man, and Patrol Officer Nick Garutto stops a stolen car and sends the driver on a detour to the slammer.
In New Jersey a busy shopping plaza is the scene of a daylight shooting. Sergeant Rob Marks responds to a driver who has smashed into two parked cars. With an open alcohol bottle in the car it doesn't look good for the driver, but Rob discovers another reason she shouldn't have been behind the wheel. All units respond to a 911 call for a driver with a gun. It takes a dangerous turn when the driver tries to escape on foot and the gun goes missing.
