Year 1958. Begoña Montes flees through the forest with little Julia, her stepdaughter. Begoña is the new wife of Jesús de la Reina, the golden widower of the region, owner of an important toiletry products company, Perfumerías de la Reina. Begoña runs with the girl, when Jesús catches up with them and shoots them in cold blood. Has he hurt Begoña? What happened to make Jesus lose his mind and shoot his own wife?
As a result of Jesús's will, Begoña fears losing Julia, but Andrés isn't going to stand idly by... Gema discovers if she's really pregnant. María makes it clear to Damián that she has no intention of returning to the nursing home. Don Pedro seeks to forge an alliance with Pelayo and offers to support his political career. Claudia discovers why Fina stopped Raúl.
Andrés tries to support Begoña, who is suffering inconsolably after losing Julia: Andrés and María will be her guardians. Gema, frightened, needs to tell Joaquín that Dr. Herrera has ordered her to undergo some tests. Begoña must explain to Julia the reasons why Jesús decided to leave María and Andrés as her legal guardians.
Damián warns Pelayo about Darío's lack of discretion. Luis is terrified at the possibility of not surviving the operation. María informs the store staff that she is Julia's legal guardian and therefore controls her actions. Digna is concerned about Julia's new situation, but Don Pedro insists that she not interfere. Tasio, upset after learning that Damián performed surgery.
Digna shares her concerns about Julia's guardianship with Andrés. After being discovered, Luz confronts Herrera and tells him he can't continue practicing due to his addiction. Pelayo is upset by his breakup with Darío. Begoña receives a call from Julia's school and goes without consulting María first. Raúl shares his disappointment with Manuela after being stood up.
