BBC Children in Need (also promoted as Plant Mewn Angen in Wales) is the BBC's UK charity. Since 1980 it has raised over £600 million to change the lives of disabled children and young people in the UK. One of the highlights is an annual telethon, held in November and televised on BBC One, BBC One HD, BBC Two, and BBC Two HD from 7:30pm until 2am. "Pudsey Bear" is BBC Children in Need's mascot, whilst Terry Wogan is a long-standing host.
BBC Children in Need is one of three high-profile British telethons, although the only charity belonging to the BBC, the other telethons being Red Nose Day and Sport Relief, both supporting the Comic Relief charity. Next up is a world exclusive, as Children In Need reveals the first glimpse of the Doctor and his brand new companion together for the first time as we have a peek at the Doctor Who Christmas special. Choir supremo Aled Jones has the daunting task of uniting thousands of children all over the UK to sing live in a mass nationwide choir. Plus Pudsey Bear gets to dance with his new namesake - Pudsey the dog, winner of Britain's Got Talent 2012.

We have another world exclusive - the return of Britain's biggest girl band, Girls Aloud, who perform the CIN single Something New live on stage.

A look back at an evening of fun and fundraising in aid of disadvantaged children all over the UK. The stars of Strictly Come Dancing, Doctor Who and EastEnders, as well as London 2012's Team GB, Girls Aloud and One Direction were just some of those doing their bit for the 2012 appeal.
In addition, Britain's Got Talent winner Pudsey the dog performed a dance-off with Children in Need namesake Pudsey Bear and, in a night of musical treats, Aled Jones brought together a choir of children from all over the UK for a massive nationwide performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water.
