BBC Children in Need (also promoted as Plant Mewn Angen in Wales) is the BBC's UK charity. Since 1980 it has raised over £600 million to change the lives of disabled children and young people in the UK. One of the highlights is an annual telethon, held in November and televised on BBC One, BBC One HD, BBC Two, and BBC Two HD from 7:30pm until 2am. "Pudsey Bear" is BBC Children in Need's mascot, whilst Terry Wogan is a long-standing host.
BBC Children in Need is one of three high-profile British telethons, although the only charity belonging to the BBC, the other telethons being Red Nose Day and Sport Relief, both supporting the Comic Relief charity. Ten well-known actors come together to record an album for Children in Need. Cameras follow Helena Bonham Carter, Jim Broadbent, Olivia Colman, Shaun Dooley, Luke Evans, Suranne Jones , Adrian Lester, Himesh Patel, David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker over 12 weeks in the summer of 2019 as they rehearse songs for their album, Got It Covered. Each actor must choose a song that has special meaning for them and must make their cover version their own. The participants also visit some charity projects that Children in Need supports in order to help raise funds and awareness.
The annual night of fundraising for Children in Need projects across the UK is back and bigger than ever, with the always brilliant hosts Tess Daly, Ade Adepitan, Graham Norton, Mel Giedroyc.
The Dragons from Dragons' Den dine out at the I'll Get This restaurant in this special episode for Children In Need. However, rather than one of them paying the bill, they'll all be making donations to Children in Need, with the amounts increasing as the evening progresses.
Current Dragons Peter Jones, Tej Lalvani, Touker Suleyman and Sara Davies are joined by former Dragon Sarah Willingham.
The big night of fundraising continues with Rochelle and Marvin Humes, and brand new host comedian Tom Allen taking charge until 12.30am.
